Kopin Corporation Recognized as Manufacturer of the Year at Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up
Kopin Corporation has been recognized with two significant honors at the 2026 Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up, where the Massachusetts Center for Advanced Manufacturing brings together industry leaders, innovators, and ecosystem partners to celebrate manufacturing achievements. The company has been awarded funding through the Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative and has also been named Manufacturer of the Year following its nomination by State Representative Kate Donaghue. The M2I2 grant will award $800K to support Kopin's investment at its Westborough, MA facility to establish a domestic source to manufacture its MicroLED displays and Neural I/o optical interconnect technology for use in AI data centers. The initiative is designed to accelerate manufacturing readiness for a high-growth technology that addresses one of the most significant challenges facing modern AI data centers: the limitations of traditional copper wire-based connectivity. Neural I/o technology, jointly developed by Kopin and Fabric.AI, enables a dramatic reduction in power consumption and space required for data centers. Through the project, Kopin will install advanced capital equipment for laser ablation, color filter coating and developer tracks, color conversion, and chip bonding. These investments will help mature Neural I/o and MicroLED manufacturing from Technology Readiness Level 4 to TRL 5-6 while enabling domestic production of critical optical components, including emitter arrays, optical interfaces, and reliability processes.
Kopin Secures $18.6M Government Contract
Kopin announced it has secured an $18.6M sole-source award from the Office of the Secretary of War through the U.S. Army Contracting Command under the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment program. The award represents the second major US Government investment dedicated to advancing Kopin's color MicroLED microdisplay technology. The latest award brings Kopin's total IBAS funding to $34M. The additional funding will support development of two more MicroLED display configurations designed for specific ground-soldier and pilot applications while accelerating Kopin's efforts to establish and expand U.S.-based MicroLED manufacturing capabilities.
Stocks Rebound as Oil Prices Ease
Stocks recovered some of their recent losses on Thursday as oil and fuel prices eased. Crude oil fell toward $100 a barrel, following about 3% drop in the previous session, reflecting easing concerns over supply disruptions after Saudi Arabia indicated it could restore around half of the damaged East-West pipeline's capacity within days and full operations within six weeks.Get caught up quickly on the top news and calls moving stocks with these five Top Five lists.1.
