Kodiak Gas Services Signs 76 MW Power Agreement with Texas Data Center
Kodiak Gas Services entered into an agreement to provide 76 megawatts of behind-the-meter, baseload power capacity, including balance of plant, to a West Texas data center for a term of six years. Under the terms of the agreement, Kodiak will deploy approximately 40 reciprocating natural gas-fueled generation units to a data center operator that is contracted with an investment-grade-rated hyperscaler and has a GPU designer as guarantor of the data center lease. Deployment of the power assets is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and scale into the first quarter of 2027 with revenue recognition anticipated to start in the first quarter of 2027.
Kodiak Reports Q2 Revenue of $391.12M, Beating Consensus
Reports Q2 revenue $391.12M, consensus $383M. "Our second quarter results highlight the strength of both our established Compression Infrastructure business and the growing momentum of our Power Infrastructure platform," said Mickey McKee, Kodiak's President and Chief Executive Officer. "In Compression Infrastructure, we delivered another record quarter as strong demand for large horsepower compression continued to drive improvements in pricing and utilization. Combined with our ongoing focus on technology-enabled efficiency and cost discipline, these market dynamics enabled us to achieve our second consecutive quarter of 70% adjusted gross margins in our Compression Infrastructure segment. With strong visibility into future U.S. natural gas production growth and a tight supply environment for compression equipment, we remain highly constructive on the long-term outlook for our contract compression business."
Kodiak and Baker Hughes Announce Strategic Agreement
Kodiak Gas Services (KGS) and Baker Hughes (BKR) announced a multi-year strategic agreement under which Baker Hughes will provide power generation solutions to support Kodiak's expanding energy infrastructure initiatives. The agreement is anchored by an initial equipment award that will enable approximately 1 GW of scalable power generation capacity to be delivered by 2030, with the broader framework providing a pathway for up to 1.8 GW of power over time. The multi-year rolling agreement provides flexibility to align capacity commitments with evolving data center demand and phased project development schedules. Through the agreement, Kodiak expects to leverage Baker Hughes' power generation portfolio to support both existing operations and future growth opportunities.
