Jacobs Selected by NVIDIA to Deploy Digital Twin
Jacobs (J) has been selected by NVIDIA (NVDA) to deploy its Data Center Digital Twin for a large-scale R&D facility in the United States. Under a three-year software-as-a-service agreement, Jacobs will deploy a digital twin environment to enhance operational planning and improve facility performance across one of NVIDIA's most advanced artificial intelligence research and development facilities.Built on NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, Jacobs' Data Center Digital Twin creates a real-time environment that helps operators simulate scenarios, while monitoring and optimizing facility performance. The platform integrates engineering models, operational technology and live facility data into a single operational platform, giving operators greater visibility into infrastructure performance. The digital twin solution will support predictive and simulation-driven use cases including dynamic power load balancing, energy forecasting, liquid coolant leak detection monitoring, predictive maintenance and operator training. Teams can model changing AI workloads to better understand power availability and cooling performance.
Jacobs Continues Role in thyssenkrupp Steel's Direct Reduction Plant Project Management
Jacobs was selected to extend its role on thyssenkrupp Steel's direct reduction plant in Duisburg, Germany, continuing to provide project management office, construction management and assembly management services as the hydrogen-capable facility moves toward first iron production. Jacobs was originally awarded the program and construction management contract in August 2023. Jacobs will continue to coordinate design, logistics and construction. Once complete, the plant is expected to produce approximately 2.5M metric tons of direct reduced iron a year, replacing coal-powered blast furnaces with a hydrogen-based process.
Jacobs Reappointed to National Grid's Asset Health Program
Jacobs has been reappointed to National Grid's Asset Health Intervention Programme, securing the Central region and expanding its role to include the Southeast and Southwest regions. The five-year program focuses on renewing U.K. critical infrastructure to meet the future needs of consumers as reliance on electricity increases. Jacobs will provide multidisciplinary detailed design, design assurance and construction support, working with National Grid's Asset Operations teams to safely deliver upgrades on live network assets. Valued at more than $13M, the program covers more than 800 transmission assets across the U.K.'s Central, Southeast and Southwest regions. The work includes replacement and refurbishment of aging substation assets using standardized, programmatic solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs and support a resilient electricity network as demand grows and the U.K. advances toward net-zero emissions.
Jacobs Awarded Contract for Germany's Nuclear Waste Disposal Project
Jacobs has been awarded a contract by Bundesgesellschaft fur Endlagerung mbH, Germany's federal company for radioactive waste disposal, to provide project support services for the Konrad Repository project in Salzgitter, Germany. The project will help strengthen schedule accuracy, cost reliability and overall project execution for one of the country's key national infrastructure initiatives. Under the contract, Jacobs will deliver advisory services to assess construction progress, validate planning assumptions and support project delivery optimization. The scope includes evaluating existing construction processes, reviewing and updating schedules and cost plans, and developing implementation of efficiency improvements.
Jacobs and AECOM Joint Venture Appointed as Program Delivery Partner for MetroLink
A Jacobs (J) and AECOM (ACM) joint venture has been appointed by Transport Infrastructure Ireland as Program Delivery Partner for MetroLink, a transformative transportation program that will provide a high-capacity, sustainable rail connection between North County Dublin, Dublin Airport and the city center, supporting future growth, reducing congestion and enhancing mobility across Ireland's capital. As Program Delivery Partner, the Jacobs and AECOM joint venture will support the procurement and delivery of the metro system, bringing integrated program management, governance and risk management to one of Ireland's largest infrastructure investments.
