Emerson to Build New Service Center in Qatar

Emerson announced plans to build the Emerson Middle East & Africa Service Center, a new automation solutions service and operations center, in the Umm Alhoul Free Zone. The facility will expand Emerson's local capabilities for customers in Qatar and across the Middle East and Africa. It will include the region's first certified in-country flow calibration lab, along with other critical automation technologies designed to help customers optimize operations, reduce turnaround time, minimize costs and accelerate project timelines. The new 3,500-square-meter facility reinforces Emerson's expanding industrial technology presence in the region and advances Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives around economic growth and diversification. The new site will add to the existing footprint of manufacturing, service and distribution locations in the Middle East across Saudi Arabia and UAE along with a broad service network of Emerson accredited service partners in the region.

BP Awards Emerson Multi-Million Dollar Contract

BP (BP) has awarded Emerson (EMR) a multi-million-dollar contract to deliver automation technologies for the Shah Deniz Compression project off the coast of Azerbaijan. This builds on a long-standing collaboration between the two companies, with Emerson previously serving as the main automation contractor for the Azeri Central East and Shah Deniz Stage 2 developments. Under the new contract, Emerson will provide integrated control and safety systems to enhance production, safety and reliability on the new offshore compression platform. The $2.9B Shah Deniz Compression project, which includes an electrically powered, normally unattended offshore production platform, represents the next stage in developing the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea. Designed to access low-pressure gas reserves and maximize overall recovery, the platform will be equipped with four 11MW compressors and serve as the central compression hub for gas from the Shah Deniz Alpha and Bravo platforms. The facility will operate remotely from BP's onshore Sangachal terminal, located 55 km south of Baku.

Emerson Appoints Rudy Sengupta as Chief Technology and AI Officer

Emerson announced that Rudy Sengupta, Vice President and General Manager of Test and Analytics Software at Emerson Test & Measurement, has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Technology and AI Officer, effective August 15, 2026. In this role, Sengupta will be a member of Emerson's Office of the Chief Executive and shape the Company's technology and AI strategy across Emerson's leading portfolio of industrial software, control and intelligent devices. He succeeds Peter Zornio, who will retire December 31, 2026 after two decades with Emerson.
