The Company's Alico Citrus segment includes activities related to planting, owning, cultivating and/or managing citrus groves to produce fruit for sale to fresh and processed citrus markets, including activities related to the purchase and resale of fruit and value-added services, which include contracting for the harvesting, marketing and hauling of citrus. The Company's Land Management and Other Operations segment includes activities related to the leasing of citrus groves, farming, grazing and hunting leasing, management and/or conservation of unimproved native pastureland and activities related to rock mining royalties and other insignificant lines of business. The Company owns approximately 46,587 acres of land in eight Florida counties and 44,700 acres of oil, gas and mineral rights throughout Florida.
Alico Inc is currently not a good buy due to significant risks despite some positive indicators. The current price is $37.12, which is below the analyst price target of $45, indicating potential upside. However, the RSI is at a low 18.33, suggesting the stock is oversold, and the forward P/E ratio is very high at 57.47, indicating overvaluation. The main risk is the volatility in earnings, as seen in the recent EPS report which showed a surprise of 139.73% but still reported a low EPS of 0.29, indicating inconsistent profitability.
