York Space Systems Awarded USSF Space Data Network Contract
York Space Systems has been selected by the United States Space Force, USSF, for the Space Data Network Backbone, SDN-B, program. "We are proud to support the Space Data Network Backbone and the Space Force's vision for a resilient space-based architecture," said Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York. "This on-ramp award reflects performance we have already demonstrated on orbit and a manufacturing base built to deliver at scale. We are encouraged that the government remains committed to a resilient supply base for this architecture, which strengthens the industrial base and delivers better outcomes for the warfighter. Resilience is not something you can add on top of an architecture. It has to be designed in, and it starts with multiple vendors who have the proven ability to deliver large quantity production."
Major Averages Broadly Lower Near Noon
The major averages were broadly lower near noon as investors continue to balance easing inflation pressures and strong corporate earnings against renewed geopolitical risks. The inflation backdrop remains supportive for equities. July CPI and PPI both came in softer than expected, reducing concerns that the Federal Reserve will need to raise interest rates at its September meeting. PPI was unchanged in July after declining 0.1% in June, while the latest CPI data showed inflation continuing to moderate. The market is increasingly focused on whether the combination of cooling inflation and a weakening labor market will give the Fed room to ease policy later this year.Get caught up quickly on the top news and calls moving stocks with these five Top Five lists.1. York Q2 Revenue at $92.5M, Below Consensus
Reports Q2 revenue $92.5M, consensus $93.9M. "York had another strong quarter of execution," said Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York. "Through the first half of 2026, we've secured eight contract wins at an 88% win rate, a reflection of both the breadth of our capabilities and the confidence customers place in our performance on orbit. Our second T1TL launch added another 21 satellites into operation this quarter, and the newer programs we're winning are structured to open the door to significantly larger follow-on opportunities in 2027. The ALL.SPACE acquisition extends our reach further into assured communications and the growing demand for unmanned systems driven by the changing character of conflict. With a backlog of $592 million and potential on awarded contracts reaching $1.85 billion, and an identified pipeline now exceeding $11.5 billion, the opportunity in front of us is substantial. Throughout 2026, and increasingly in Q2, we continued to observe a meaningful shift in how the U.S. government is acquiring spacecraft systems, moving away from a 'rapid succession of larger RFPs' to an IDIQ approach that is slow to start but often faster to accelerate Task Orders later. This approach has a longer cycle to award the IDIQs, but once IDIQs are awarded, Task Orders can be awarded in more rapid succession without the need for follow-on competitive award cycles."
York Space Systems Expects 2026 Revenue of $375M to $405M
York Space Systems "expects revenue for the full year 2026 to be in the range of $375 million to $405 million. The majority of the decrease in guidance is due to the removal of the new business revenue in 2026 given the shift in government acquisition methodologies. We are working on a pipeline of government opportunities worth $11.5 billion, across 12 potential customers. This analysis considers the next two years, and we only included opportunities from potential customers we have spoken to directly."
York Space Systems CFO Kevin Messerle Resigns, Brian Frantz Appointed Interim
York Space Systems announced that Kevin Messerle, will step down from his current role as Chief Financial Officer. York has named Brian Frantz, currently Chief Accounting Officer, as interim CFO, effective August 14, 2026. York wishes Messerle well in his next chapter outside the industry. "Brian's CFO and CAO experience for both public and private companies, coupled with his institutional knowledge of York, and the strong working partnership we've built through our pubic-company transition position him well to lead York's finance organization and keep us focused on what matters most, executing our strategy and delivering for our customers and shareholders," said Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York.
