CEO Aaron Graft Discusses Company Progress and Investment Commitment
CEO Aaron Graft said, "As has become my custom, I will begin the letter with some thoughts about what is going well and what is not going as well regarding matters I believe to be of relevance to long-term investors. For the first time in several years, the external freight environment and the internal maturity of our platform are moving in our favor at the same time. We spent the freight recession building network density, products, data assets, and infrastructure. The task now is increasingly straightforward: convert what we have built into revenue growth, operating leverage, and earnings. We told investors we would invest through the freight cycle, and we did exactly that. Not everyone agreed with the strategy, but we were true to our word. Investors should expect that same level of commitment as we now take the steps necessary to translate that potential into earnings performance consistent with our historical results and beyond. Doing so will demonstrate the returns on the investments we have made. Our priorities have evolved, but our commitment to delivering on what we say has not."
Triumph's Quarterly EPS Reduced by 13 Cents Due to Non-Core Items
The company said: "Earnings for the quarter were affected by certain non-core items, which in aggregate reduced EPS by 13c. The majority of this non-core expense is related to our ongoing efficiency initiatives, which should continue to create positive operating leverage for Triumph going forward."
Triumph Launches RFP Manager Solution
Triumph announced the launch of RFP Manager, a solution designed to help freight brokers manage contract bids and make more informed pricing decisions. RFP Manager is powered by the Triumph Network, which provides visibility into approximately 70% of North American brokered freight transactions and payments to more than 170,000 carriers. The solution combines transaction data and carrier payment activity with broker-specific buying patterns at the lane level to support contract pricing.
Transportation Industry Faces Key Rulings and Policy Changes
The company said, "Much of what we reported last quarter is still in play - rate inflation, margin compression, and CDL enforcement. Visibility to these issues is growing beyond transportation industry actors. Key rulings from the Supreme Court this summer, as well as continued administrative policy changes from FMCSA/DOT, are the biggest questions the transportation industry faces this year. Any significant changes to the levels of liability or driver certification requirements could recast the trucking industry significantly, adding bottlenecks to fleet expansion or additional administrative requirements across industry actors in an already challenged marketplace."
