SunPower Breaks Ground on New AI Data Center Solar Project in Nevada
SunPower announced it broke ground on a solar power system for a new AI data center located in Reno, Nevada. T.J. Rodgers, CEO of SunPower, said, "Our ASP for a residential solar job is about $32 thousand, but our high-tech Silicon Valley installations average $44 thousand with some commercial installations running well over $1 million. Bigger is better on the bottom line."
SunPower Raises $26.2 Million in Private Placement
SunPower announced it has raised $26.2 million in an equity private placement round, which was funded mainly by investors from Sand Hill Road, the "Wall Street" of Silicon Valley at the northern boundary of Palo Alto and Stanford University. The round was anchored by Foris Ventures, the family office of John Doerr, Chairman of venture firm Kleiner-Perkins.

Publicly traded companies in the space include Neurocrine Biosciences, Exelixis, Alnylam, BioMarin, United Therapeutics, Ionis, Bio-Techne, and Alkermes.DATA-SHARING DEALS:The Trump administration has struck data-sharing deals with OpenAI, Google, Meta, Amazon, and other tech companies to track how AI is affecting jobs and hiring, Courtenay Brown of Axios. The Labor Department has signed memorandums of understanding with "a lot of these tech companies," acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling told Axios.
