Lumen and Snowflake Collaborate to Simplify Data Management
Lumen Technologies (LUMN) and Snowflake (SNOW) announced their intent to collaborate on helping enterprises simplify how they move, control, and secure data across modern enterprise environments. The companies look to combine Lumen's programmable networking capabilities with Snowflake's AI Data Cloud to help customers streamline how data is connected, governed, and activated across analytics, applications, and AI use cases. "Organizations are under pressure to turn AI investments into measurable business outcomes, but too much of the data needed to deliver those outcomes remains fragmented across clouds, data centers, and enterprise locations," said Lumen Chief Technology and Product Officer Jim Fowler. "By bringing Lumen's private, programmable network together with Snowflake's AI Data Cloud, we plan to simplify the connectivity needed to help customers move, control, and access business-critical data wherever it resides so they can scale AI with confidence."
Snowflake Appoints Jeff Naughton as Technical Fellow
Snowflake announced that Jeff Naughton has joined the company as Technical Fellow. The rise of AI agents is placing entirely new demands on enterprise data infrastructure: systems must be faster, more adaptive, and built for workloads that are changing in real time. Naughton will work at the center of that challenge, partnering with Snowflake's engineering teams to translate decades of systems research into platform capabilities that keep pace with AI's advance. Naughton will work alongside Snowflake's Anupam Datta, Principal Research Scientist and AI Research Lead, and Aditya Parameswaran, AI x Data Research Lead, to ensure that advances in AI research translate directly into platform capabilities Snowflake customers can use. He will also deepen Snowflake's connections to the academic research community and its role in the forums where the field's most important work is shaped. Most recently, Naughton served as Senior Vice President and Fellow at Celonis.
