RLI Corp Reports Q2 Revenue of $484.69M
Reports Q2 revenue $484.69M, consensus $461.04M. "We are pleased to report another quarter of premium growth and profitability," said RLI Corp. President & CEO Craig Kliethermes. "Gross premiums written increased 3%, driven by our casualty segment, while strong margins in our property and surety segments contributed to an 86 combined ratio. Net investment income increased 17%, complementing our underwriting results and contributing to an 11% increase in book value per share since year-end 2025, including dividends returned to shareholders. These results reflect our disciplined execution and continued focus on delivering specialized expertise and exceptional service to our customers."
Company Authorizes Share Repurchase Program Up to $250M
The Board authorized a new share repurchase program of up to $250M of the company's outstanding common stock. The company's stock price was one of the factors in the Board's decision to authorize the repurchase program.
RLI Declares Special Cash Dividend of $2.00 per Share
RLI announced that its Board of Directors declared a special cash dividend of $2.00 per share of common stock, which is expected to total approximately $184M, and a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.18 per share, a 12.5% increase over the prior quarter.

Reports Q1 revenue $423.87M, consensus $445.15M. "We entered 2026 with positive underwriting results, delivering an 86 combined ratio across our diversified specialty portfolio," said RLI Corp. President & CEO Craig Kliethermes. "Our core performance remained solid to start the year. Gross premiums written grew 3%, led by our casualty segment, and net investment income increased 15%, contributing meaningfully to quarterly results and reflecting the continued strength of our investment portfolio."
RLI Corp. Promotes Two Leaders in Claims Organization
RLI Corp. announced the promotion of two leaders within its Claim organization, effective April 1, 2026. Cory Figiel, Vice President, Claim, has been promoted to Chief Claim Officer, where she will lead strategy and operations for RLI's Claim organization across all product lines. She succeeds Bob Handzel, who retired March 31, 2026, after 20 years of service with RLI and a 47-year career in the insurance industry. Figiel joined RLI in 2016 as Director, Claim Counsel and has since held several claim leadership roles, most recently as Vice President, Claim, with executive responsibility for Professional Liability, Environmental Liability, Executive Products and Surety claims. She brings nearly 20 years of legal and insurance experience to her new role. Figiel holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. In addition, Charles Spiekerman, Assistant Vice President, Professional Liability Claims, has been promoted to Vice President, Claim. He will lead RLI's Professional Liability, Environmental Liability, Executive Products and Surety claim teams.
