NASDAQ Drops 1.3% as US Stocks Retreat
The gains made by AI CapEx names overnight that helped prop up the S&P 500 reversed sharply today, sending both the benchmark index as well as the tech-heavy NASDAQ Composite sharply lower. S&P 500, off by 0.7%, was down for the third consecutive day, landing at a two-week low below 7,700 as investors booked profits and some of this year's biggest winners. Micronand Western Digitalwere down over 7%, while SanDiskand Seagatewere down over 9%, with Technology by far the worst performing segment in the index today. Defensively-inclined Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors outpeformed, with Energy also trading relatively higher as the U.S.-Iran war uncertainty continues to boost oil prices. In turn, Nasdaq Composite shed 1.3% to its lowest level since August 6th.In the opening hour of the evening session, sentiment remains fragile - S&P e-minis are down a decimal and NASDAQ 100 contract down by 0.2%. Mercury Systems and Palantir Announce Strategic Agreement
Mercury Systems (MRCY), and Palantir (PLTR) announced a strategic agreement to enhance the automation of material planning and factory operations to accelerate the delivery of processing technologies for U.S. military programs. In support of the U.S. Department of War, Palantir is working with key U.S. defense industrial base suppliers to increase throughput and reduce delivery timelines for critical components and subsystems. Through two initial workflows, Mercury will streamline material planning, reduce manual workloads, and improve the ability to deliver at increased capacity across its factories. Palantir will also help Mercury build an enterprise ontology that serves as a digital twin of the company's operations and business practices, enabling faster decisions and improved production predictability.
Mercury Systems Secures Contract for 1,000 RTBX06 Servers with Blue Raven
Mercury Systems received a multi-year contract to deliver 1,000 of its RTBX06 BuiltSECURE servers leveraging Mercury's Common Processing Architecture to Blue Raven, a distributor in the defense industry. To meet demand and align with U.S. Department of War priorities, Mercury is investing to expand production capacity, add automation, consolidate its operational footprint, and deepen supplier partnerships. This contract award represents Mercury's largest single order for these systems. Mercury will produce, configure, and support the servers, while Blue Raven will focus on global resale and distribution.
