Company Reports Q2 Revenue of $460.28M

Reports Q2 revenue $460.28M, two estimates $475.9M. Juan Carlos Bueno, Chief Executive Officer, stated: "Our pulp sales realizations remained steady this quarter, as continued economic uncertainty delayed market recovery. Our second quarter results were also weighed down by rising European fiber costs, driven by regional supply shortages and intense competition for sawmill residuals from energy producers. As a result, we recognized a non-cash impairment of $29.0 million primarily against pulp and fiber inventory."

Company Reports Q4 Revenue of $449.5M, Net Loss of $238.7M

Reports Q4 revenue $449.5M, consensus $456.68M. Q4 net loss included total non-cash impairments of $238.7M, including non-cash impairments of $203.5M recognized against long-lived assets at Peace River mill due to the continued down-cycle environment of hardwood pulp markets, $12.2M against certain obsolete equipment and $23.0M against pulp inventory due to low prices and high fiber costs. Juan Carlos Bueno, CEO, stated: "To address the challenging hardwood pulp environment that has weighed on our Peace River mill's results, we have engaged with all stakeholders and several initiatives have been underway. These include shifting production mix at the mill further towards softwood and engaging government on accretive opportunities surrounding energy and carbon capture. We are considering all options in respect of this asset. Despite the non-cash impairments and the challenging business climate, our underlying operational performance improved quarter-over-quarter, reflecting our focus on cost reduction and efficiency initiatives. These will remain a key focus in 2026."

Mercer reports Q2 EPS ($1.29), consensus (96c)

Reports Q2 revenue $453.52M, consensus $476.68M. Juan Carlos Bueno, CEO, stated: "Our operating results for the second quarter of 2025 reflect the impacts of ongoing uncertainties in the global trade environment coupled with the resulting weaker dollar. This challenging backdrop contributed to weaker demand for pulp in China during the quarter. The related depreciation of the dollar relative to the euro and Canadian dollar had a negative impact of approximately $26 million on our Operating EBITDA for the second quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter. The second quarter also included an $11 million non-cash impairment on hardwood inventory at our Peace River mill stemming from lower hardwood prices in China because of weaker demand."
