Raymond James: U.S. Boat Registrations Down 16.7% YoY in 2026

Raymond James says that while demand across the domestic marine industry remains soft here in 2026, trends appear to have deteriorated further in August as U.S. powerboat registrations fell 16.7% year-over-year for the month. This compares with the 10.1% decline seen in July and brings the year-to-date drop to 4.9%. As a result, while the firm is now through much of the selling season, demand is tracking somewhat worse than what it believes is the general market expectation for this year of down low-single digits. Publicly-traded companies in the space include Malibu Boats (MBUU), Brunswick (BC) and MarineMax (HZO).
