General Electric Awarded $319.55M Contract Modification
General Electric has been awarded a maximum $319.55M modification exercising the first two-year four-month option period of a six-year three-month base contract with one two-year four-month option period and one one-year and five-month option period. This is a firm-fixed-price, requirements contract for J85 engine supplies. The performance completion date is Dec. 31, 2028. Using military services are Air Force and Navy. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2026 through 2029 defense appropriated funds and defense working capital funds. The contracting activity is Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support.
GE Aerospace Awarded $117.85M Contract
GE Aerospace was awarded a $117.85M firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. This contract is for commercial depot-level services regarding standard rework of Navy and Marine Corps T700-GE-401 series engines, cold section modules and power turbine modules. Work is expected to be completed in August 2028. No funds will be obligated at the time of award; funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The contract that is being modified was not competed. The Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.
National Airlines Commits to Purchase Seven GE Aerospace Engines
GE Aerospace announced that National Airlines has committed to purchase one GE90-110B and six CF6-80C2 engines to power their Boeing 777F/747F cargo airplanes. National Airlines owns thirty CF6 engines and eight GE90 engines. The GE90 engine family powers all Boeing 777 models and is the exclusive powerplant on the 777-300ER, -200LR, and Freighter.
StandardAero Selected by GE to Supply CT7-2E1 Engines
StandardAero (SARO) has been chosen by GE Aerospace (GE) to build, maintain and overhaul the CT7-2E1 engines selected to power the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence's, MOD, New Medium Helicopter, NMH, fleet. The announcement follows GE Aerospace's disclosure that Leonardo selected the CT7-2E1 engine to power 23 AW149 helicopters for the NMH program, an agreement that includes 46 engines plus spares, spare parts and long-term support, as well as future exports from the UK. The AW149s will be operated by the UK Armed Forces and delivered between 2030 and 2033.
GE Aerospace and Magellan Sign MRO Strategic MOU
GE Aerospace (GE) and Magellan Aerospace (MALJF) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding, or MOU, to establish maintenance, repair, and overhaul, or MRO, capabilities in Canada for the F414-GE-39E engine that powers the Saab JAS 39 Gripen E fighter. The MOU is predicated on whether the Government of Canada proceeds with the acquisition of the Saab JAS 39 Gripen E fighter as part of the future Royal Canadian Air Force fighter fleet. Under the agreement, GE Aerospace would provide training and license Magellan as Canada's domestic center of excellence for engine sustainment, delivering MRO services to support the operational readiness, availability, and long-term performance of the Royal Canadian Air Force F414 fleet. The MRO work would take place at Magellan's Mississauga facility.
