Flexsteel Industries Sees Q2 Revenue of $119.5M-$123M
Flexsteel Industries sees Q2 revenue $119.5M-$123M, two estimates $118.7M
Flexsteel Reports Q1 Revenue of $114.0M
Reports Q1 revenue $114.0M vs. $110.4M last year. "I'm pleased with our first quarter results and the continued momentum of our growth strategies despite a challenging macroeconomic environment," said Derek Schmidt, CEO. "Net sales increased 3.2% compared to the prior year, toward the upper end of our guidance range, marking our twelfth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. Sales of Flexsteel branded products grew approximately 5%, while sales in our Homestyles ready-to-assemble category, which we are exiting, were down $1.9 million or 57% compared to the prior year quarter. Encouragingly, orders increased 5 percent and our ending backlog grew 8.2 percent versus the prior year period, reinforcing our confidence in the underlying strength of our business. New product introductions, strategic account share gains, and continued expansion in health and wellness remain strong contributors to our growth, providing further evidence that our strategic investments are strengthening our competitive position. From a profitability standpoint, we delivered a GAAP operating margin of approximately 6 percent, which included a $0.8 million or 70 bps unfavorable foreign currency translation impact related to our peso-denominated asset exposure in Mexico. Excluding this impact, operating margin was in line with our expectations for the quarter and reflected solid operating performance considering the significant inflationary pressures currently impacting our industry. Ocean transportation rates have nearly doubled over the last six months, while sharply higher fuel prices and rising material costs continue to pressure margins. Our teams have mitigated a meaningful portion of these headwinds through cost savings initiatives, productivity improvements, and disciplined product portfolio management. Looking ahead, we expect the operating environment to remain challenging as consumer confidence, affordability constraints, geopolitical uncertainty, and evolving tariff policies continue to weigh on industry demand and costs."

Stock Futures Weaken as Oil Prices and Treasury Yields Rise
Stock futures are pointing to a weaker open as fading hopes for a U.S.-Iran peace agreement push oil prices and Treasury yields higher. Brent crude is rising as the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran comes under pressure, while the 30-year Treasury yield has climbed to around 5.33%, its highest level since 2007. The combination of higher oil and long-term yields is tightening financial conditions and making high-duration technology stocks particularly vulnerable.AI and semiconductor stocks are bearing the brunt of the selling. The weakness comes as investors reassess elevated valuations across the AI trade, with higher borrowing costs adding another headwind to companies whose valuations depend heavily on future growth. The retail sector is providing some support. Home Depot is gaining about 2% after reporting second-quarter sales above expectations, although the company said the housing market remains challenging. Investors will also look to Target and Walmart later this week for a clearer picture of consumer spending and the health of the U.S. consumer. The Federal Reserve's July meeting minutes, due Wednesday, are another catalyst. After the recent weak labor-market data and relatively benign inflation reports, investors have been looking for evidence that policymakers are becoming more comfortable with eventual rate cuts. However, the renewed rise in oil prices and long-term Treasury yields could complicate that outlook. In pre-market trading, S&P 500 futures fell 0.52%, Nasdaq futures fell 0.3% and Dow futures fell 0.10%.Check out this morning's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER -Amylyxup 36% after its Lucidity trial met the FDA-agreed-upon primary endpoint demonstrating a 55% reduction in the composite rate of Level 2 and Level 3 hypoglycemic events compared to placeboUP AFTER EARNINGS -Duos Technologiesup 11%Flexsteel Industriesup 6%Home Depotup 2%Amer Sportsup 8%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Klarnadown 20%Fabrinetdown 11%Baidudown 9%VNET Groupdown 8%Immaticsdown 2%Pony AIdown 3%LOWER -XTI Aerospacedown 7% after announcing Scott Pomeroy has resigned as CEO and that the company is delaying its quarterly report to complete an internal reviewTesladown 2% after The Informationthe company has told staff it is planning for a public Cybercab launch in August
S&P 500 Index Retreats for Second Consecutive Session
S&P 500 index retreated for the second consecutive trading session on Monday and has now erased gains made over the prior two trading sessions last week. Consumer sectors, both staples and cyclicals, were among the worst-performing areas of the benchmark. Energy once again helped to prop up the S&P 500 as its best-performing index, thanks to the geopolitical uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz. In technology, sentiment was split down the middle: pro-AI capex stocks held up, with Micron, Sandisk, Western Digital, and Applied Materialstrading notably higher.
