Ecopetrol Reports Limited Impact from Cybersecurity Incident
Ecopetrol reports that the latest analyses conducted regarding the cybersecurity incident and its effects, previously disclosed on July 17, indicate that the impact was limited exclusively to the downloading of files. Accordingly, no compromise to the integrity of the information has been identified, despite the external threat actor's attempts to destroy, delete, and/or encrypt data. The identities of users associated with the 3,300 accounts that were unlawfully infiltrated were not compromised, nor were any user access credentials captured. Ecopetrol S.A. also confirms that no compromise has been identified in the transactional technology solutions within its digital ecosystem, those of its subsidiaries, or those of its network of commercial and financial partners, suppliers, and customers. The company and its subsidiaries continue to carry out containment efforts, now in an advanced phase.
Ecopetrol Reports Cyber Attack Incident
Ecopetrol announced that it has identified an unauthorized access to certain digital resources owned by the Company and its subsidiaries by an external actor who has not been identified, as well as an attempted ransomware attack that was blocked by the cybersecurity controls implemented across the Company and its subsidiaries. The unauthorized access affected cloud-based file storage environments of approximately 15 subsidiaries, resulting in the unauthorized download of data associated with approximately 3,300 user accounts. The external actor communicated extortion demands, threatening to publicly disclose the information that had been unlawfully extracted.
Ecopetrol Investimentos Receives Support from Brazilian SEC
Ecopetrol's controlled company Ecopetrol Investimentos do Brasil received an official letter through which the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission, or CVM, informed that its Board of Commissioners ruled in favor of Ecopetrol Investimentos regarding the administrative appeal filed in connection with the public tender offer for the acquisition of shares, or OPAV. In its Official Letter, the CVM also states that the suspension previously imposed on the OPAV is ineffective and grants Ecopetrol Investimentos until July 22 to amend and publish the OPAV offer document, including, among other matters, the new date for the auction.
Ecopetrol Receives Approximately COP 1 Trillion from National Government
Ecopetrol announced that the National Government, through Resolution 1492, issued by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, or MHCP, recognized and ordered payment to the Ecopetrol Group in an aggregate amount of approximately COP 1T, corresponding to the account receivable from the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund for the second quarter of 2025. Of this aggregate amount, approximately COP 0.8T corresponds to the company and approximately COP 0.2T to Refineria de Cartagena. The payment was made through the issuance and delivery of short-term Class B Treasury Securities, in accordance with the MHCP's resolution.
Ecopetrol Reaches New Agreement with Oil Workers Union
Ecopetrol announced that, as part of the collective bargaining process, it reached a final agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement with the Oil Workers Union, the majority union and holder of the collective bargaining agreement. The new agreement has a term of six years, effective as of January 1. In addition, in accordance with applicable law, the company has entered into 66 final agreements with other participating labor unions.
