BrainsWay Presents New Data on Deep TMS for PTSD and Depression
BrainsWay announced the presentation of new real-world data demonstrating significant improvements in patients with comorbid post-traumatic stress disorder and Major Depressive Disorder treated with Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. This real-world data collection study evaluated the efficacy of Deep TMS as a tool to improve both PTSD and MDD symptoms in patients with comorbid disease. All 462 patients in the retrospective study, from 11 clinical sites, were diagnosed with both MDD and PTSD, received at least 20 Deep TMS treatment sessions using BrainsWay's H1 or H7 coils. Outcomes included changes in the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 before and after treatment. Of these patients, 83.5% experienced a response, with an average 52% reduction in PCL-5 scores. Patients also experienced substantial improvements in depression symptoms, including a 66.6% response rate, a 27.3% remission rate, and an average 50% reduction in PHQ-9 scores.
BrainsWay Enters Strategic Financing Agreement with APS Innovations
BrainsWay announced it has entered into a strategic equity financing agreement with APS Innovations, the parent company of Advanced Psychiatric Management, a management services organization servicing multiple mental health clinics in the greater Chicago area. Under the terms of the agreement, BrainsWay will invest $1.5M initially, with potential for an additional $1.5M via milestone-based investments, for a minority position in Hopemark in the form of a preferred, annually compounding security. The agreement also provides for a redemption mechanism relating to the shares.
