Beta Technologies Expands Financing Relationship with EXIM to $1 Billion

Beta Technologies and the Export-Import Bank of the United States, or EXIM, announced their intention to expand the parties' existing financing relationship. The proposed expansion would provide Beta with up to $1B in net financing, which includes approximately $830M of incremental capital available through one or more tranches. This would extend the existing $170M financing relationship that supported the construction of Beta's aircraft production facility in South Burlington, Vermont. Upon completion, Beta expects to use the proceeds to support the next phase of its manufacturing growth in the U.S., which could include: expanding vertical integration and bringing additional strategic aerospace manufacturing processes in house; increasing production capacity for electric propulsion systems and components sold to international customers and used on aircraft worldwide; scaling Beta's propulsion business beyond its current low-volume commercial shipments; approximately doubling throughput across Beta's manufacturing facilities over the next several years; and supporting the creation of hundreds of technical, high-quality U.S. aerospace and advanced-manufacturing jobs. Since the parties completed Beta's initial EXIM financing of approximately $170M, Beta's commercial aircraft backlog has grown from approximately $1B to $3.9B.

Loganair Signs Agreement to Purchase 5 Electric Aircraft

Loganair, the UK's regional airline, and BETA Technologies announced at the Farnborough International Airshow the signing of a term sheet under which Loganair will purchase five all-electric ALIA conventional takeoff and landing, or CTOL, CX300 aircraft, with options for five more. The UK, and Scotland in particular, is a natural first market for commercial electric flight. Across the country, island and remote communities depend on short routes that road and rail cannot serve, making regional air service critical infrastructure. Most of Loganair's regional sectors are under 100 miles, squarely within the CX300's mission profile. The aircraft operates from existing runways and recharges in 20 to 40 minutes using BETA's fast-charging systems. xpected to enter service in 2029, the aircraft will support passenger and cargo operations across Loganair's network, delivering greater operational flexibility with lower operating costs and zero in-flight emissions. The agreement also includes plans for technical support and integration to ensure the aircraft can be introduced seamlessly into Loganair's existing fleet.
