ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent Order Over 3M Nvidia GPUs for $35B

ByteDance, Alibaba (BABA), and Tencent (TCEHY) have ordered over 3M Nvidia (NVDA) RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards for over $35B, Reuters reports, citing two people familiar with the matter. This comes as the companies look for more export-compliant chips amid US restrictions on trade with China. Nvidia told its customers and partners it may not be able to fill the orders because demand from Chinese companies exceeds the planned production, the two sources added.

Alibaba's Ant Group Tests AI Assistant App

Alibaba (BABA) affiliate Ant Group has begun internal testing of an AI agent assistant app that aims to match Meta (META) Muse, The Standard reports. This marks Lingguang's transformation from an AI assistant to an AI-native personal intelligent agent with long-term memory and the ability to proactively drive tasks, according to the report, which adds that the new version can also utilize Skill and MCP to send messages on DingTalk and control smart home devices. Ant plans a full release of Lingguang 2.0 within the month, the report says.
