RealReal Expands AI Shopping Agent Ask TRR

RealReal (REAL) is expanding Ask TRR, the online retailer's AI shopping agent built with Google (GOOG) Cloud's Gemini Enterprise. Traditional keyword search was built for retailers selling many units of the same product. At The RealReal, every item is one-of-one. The expansion of Ask TRR addresses that challenge. Built with Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, Ask TRR is a personalized, shopping agent that helps customers navigate The RealReal's constantly changing luxury assortment through natural language. The company also plans to evolve the experience with AI-driven recommendations on product description pages.

The RealReal Opens Its First Store in Massachusetts

The RealReal announced the opening of its first Massachusetts store at The Street Chestnut Hill on October 15. Located at 27 Boylston Street, Suite 205, Chestnut Hill, the new store brings The RealReal's full-service luxury consignment experience to Greater Boston for the first time, making it easier for the region's growing community of buyers and consignors to shop and sell luxury in person. The new 1800 sq. ft. store combines The RealReal's authentication expertise with personalized consignment services and a curated shopping experience. Customers can consign, shop and discover authenticated luxury across women's and men's fashion, handbags, fine jewelry, watches and accessories. The RealReal selected The Street Chestnut Hill based in part on the strength of its existing community of buyers and consignors across Greater Boston. The opening comes as consumers are increasingly turning to resale not simply as an alternative to buying new luxury, but as a destination in its own right. The RealReal's 2026 Resale Report found that demand for vintage has increased 432% since 2020, while increasingly specific searches for designers, eras and creative-director tenures point to a luxury consumer who is more knowledgeable and intentional than ever.

The RealReal Q2 Revenue $193M Beats Expectations

Reports Q2 revenue $193M, consensus $188.14M. "The RealReal delivered a standout Q2, with an all-time high quarterly GMV of $617 million, up 22% year-over-year. That marks our fourth consecutive quarter of GMV growth above 20%. Revenue grew 17% and we delivered nearly 300 basis points of Adjusted EBITDA margin expansion versus last year," said CEO Rati Levesque. "We're upleveling the customer experience, deepening trust and compounding our advantages. Our buyers are spending more, our sellers are more engaged, and the platform connecting them gets smarter every quarter. Entering the year, we said 2026 would be the year our advantages begin to compound, and we're delivering on that commitment.
