QS Partners with Honda in Multi-Year Agreement

The company states: "We're proud to report that we have taken a major step forward on automotive customer engagement: on June 18, we announced a partnership with Honda. This is a multi-year agreement aimed at advancing our solid-state lithium-metal battery technology for automotive and other applications in the Honda product portfolio. Honda is a Top-10 global automaker renowned for its engineering excellence and product quality and has made significant investments in scaling up solid-state battery manufacturing capabilities. This partnership results from one of the most rigorous assessments of our technology to date. Our ceramic separator and anode-free lithium-metal architecture enables QS to provide solutions to unlock the full potential of solid-state batteries. With Honda's diverse product portfolio, this collaboration also allows us an additional pathway to expand into new high-value markets. Additionally, we recently updated our ongoing collaboration and licensing arrangement with Volkswagen PowerCo with an amended set of milestones and payments focused on automotive cell development, larger format cells and our future technology roadmap. We are also working with two other Top-10 automotive OEM customers under existing joint development agreements. We continue to strengthen our relationships with automakers in North America, Europe and Japan, and on this front, we have shipped cells to an additional automotive OEM customer."

QuantumScape Signs Agreement with PowerCo for Up to $75.4 Million

In a regulatory filing, the company states: "On July 16, 2026, QuantumScape Battery, a wholly owned subsidiary of QuantumScape Corporation, entered into an amendment to the Amended and Restated Collaboration Agreement, dated as of July 17, 2025, with PowerCo SE, a battery cell company wholly owned by the Volkswagen Group, a major investor in the Company. The Collaboration Agreement is described in the Current Report on Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 23, 2025, which is incorporated herein by reference. Under the Amendment, QS and PowerCo updated the program structure and milestones for their continued joint development, validation, demonstration, and initial commercialization of battery cells based on QSE-5 Technology, and toward the transfer of QSE-5 Technology into a cell size to be determined by PowerCo. The amended set of milestones focus on automotive cell development, larger format cells and the Company's future technology roadmap. The Amendment replaces the prior statement of work and related cost reimbursement structure with payments based on the achievement of milestones, including the delivery and validation of battery cells over the next two years. Under the Amendment, the maximum aggregate amount the Company will receive from PowerCo for the program is $75.4 million, inclusive of amounts paid to date."
