KFC Partners with Coca-Cola for New Beverage Deal

KFC U.S., a subsidiary of Yum! Brands (YUM), announced a new partnership with The Coca-Cola Company (KO), calling it "another step in the brand's ongoing effort to refresh its menu and beverage platform and create more reasons for customers to visit." Beginning in January 2027, KFC will transition its U.S. beverage partnership to The Coca-Cola Company, with Coca-Cola products expected to be served in all U.S. restaurants by spring 2027, the company stated. PepsiCo (PEP) has been the longtime supplier for KFC U.S. restaurants.

Yum! Brands' KFC Nears Deal with Coca-Cola, Major Blow to PepsiCo

Yum! Brands' (YUM) KFC is nearing a deal to sign Coca-Cola (KO) as its beverage provider at thousands of U.S. restaurants in what would be "a major blow" to longtime supplier PepsiCo (PEP), people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal's Heather Haddon and Laura Cooper. A deal could be announced as soon as Thursday and the switch at KFC U.S. would begin in January, the sources said.

Coca-Cola Again Considers Selling Costa Coffee

Coca-Cola, which acquired Costa Coffee for $5.1B in 2018, but has struggled to grow the business meaningfully, is once again exploring a sale, people familiar with the matter told Semafor's Leah Quinn and Rohan Goswami. Coke explored selling Costa in late 2025, before calling off the sales process after a tepid response from private-equity bidders, the Financial Times previously reported, Semafor noted.

Coca-Cola Appoints Rob Gehring as President of North America Operations

After Coca-Cola (KO) announced on Friday that Rob Gehring will become president of the company's North America operating unit effective, December 1, BNP Paribas analyst Kevin Grundy said the firm views the "surprising move to be a slight negative" for Monster Beverage (MNST) given that Gehring was viewed as the most likely successor to the company's current CEO. BNP Paribas maintains a Neutral rating on Monster following Gehring's exit.

Monster Beverage CEO Rob Gehring Resigns, Emelie Tirre to Interim Role

Monster Beverage (MNST) disclosed late Friday that on September 21, Rob Gehring, currently the Chief Executive Officer, Americas of Monster Energy, provided notice of his intention to resign as CEO Americas, effective as of November 30, to return to Coca-Cola (KO) as president of its North America operating unit. Effective December 1, Emelie Tirre, Chief Strategy Officer of Monster Energy, will assume responsibility for the Americas and the Caribbean on an interim basis. In her prior position as Chief Commercial Officer of the Americas, the Caribbean and Oceania through February 24, Tirre oversaw the company's sales, development and expansion in markets in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Oceania and the Caribbean.
