Raymond James: U.S. Powerboat Registration Trends Slow in July
Raymond James says U.S. powerboat registration trends slow in July. While demand across the domestic marine industry remains soft here in 2026, the firm notes trends appear to have deteriorated in July as U.S. powerboat registrations fell 10.1% year-over-year for the month, which compares with the 3.0% decline seen in June and brings the year-to-date drop to 4.3%. As a result, demand is tracking modestly worse than what Raymond James believes is the general market expectation for this year of down low-single digits. Names in focus include Malibu Boats (MBUU), Brunswick (BC) and MarineMax (HZO).

Levin Capital Strategies, a top 10 shareholder of MarineMax, issued the following statement "commending" MarineMax's Board of Directors for securing a definitive transaction agreement with Safe Harbor Marinas, a Blackstone Infrastructure portfolio company. The all-cash transaction for $53.00 per share delivers certain value at a very sizable premium. John Levin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Levin Capital, commented: "We congratulate the MarineMax Board and management team on reaching an agreement that delivers substantial, immediate and certain cash value to shareholders. On February 17, 2026, we publicly called on the Board to pursue a review of strategic alternatives following an unsolicited acquisition proposal. Today's announcement represents an excellent outcome and validates our longstanding view that MarineMax's premier marina assets, service platform and brand portfolio were worth substantially more than the public market recognized."
