Hilltop Reports Q3 Net Interest Margin Increase to 3.33%
Reports Q3 increased net interest margin of 3.33% vs. 3.21% in Q2. Book value per common share was $36.99 from $37.12 last quarter. Common Equity Tier 1 Capital Ratio was 18.28% at September 30 from 18.34% last quarter. CEO Jeremy Ford said, "Through a volatile quarter marked by a policy reversal from the Federal Reserve and rapidly rising rates, Hilltop delivered a 0.67% return on average assets and returned approximately $33M to stockholders through dividends and share repurchases. During Q3, PlainsCapital Bank generated a 1.1% return on average assets and $44M of pre-tax income as healthy net interest margin expansion and earning asset growth were partially offset by a $10M provision for credit losses. PrimeLending reported a pre-tax loss of $11M as the dramatic intra-quarter increase in mortgage rates depressed purchase activity across the market and reduced the mark-to-market value of existing loans in the pipeline...HilltopSecurities produced a 5.9% pre-tax margin on $117M of net revenues to deliver $7M in pre-tax income...As 2026 draws to a close, we remain committed to providing exceptional service to our clients, executing on our strategic plans and creating long-term value for our stockholders."
Hilltop Reports Q2 CET1 Capital Ratio of 18.34%
Reports Q2 CET1 capital ratio 18.34%. Jeremy Ford, chairman, president and CEO of Hilltop, said, "During the second quarter of 2026, Hilltop delivered a 1% return on average assets and returned approximately $59 million to stockholders through dividends and share repurchases. At PlainsCapital Bank, continued core loan growth and an expansion in net interest margin drove a 1.3% return on average assets and $51 million of pre-tax income. PrimeLending realized a $2 million pre-tax loss on $2.4 billion of origination volume as the mortgage market faced a subdued start to the summer buying season primarily due to the recent increase in mortgage rates. HilltopSecurities produced a 10% pre-tax margin on $124 million of net revenues to deliver $12 million of pre-tax income, which was primarily driven by strong quarters in its Wealth Management and Structured Finance business lines. As we look to the second half of 2026, we expect to continue to execute on our strategic priorities while prudently managing capital and creating long-term value for our stockholders."
