Stock Futures Slightly Higher Amid High Oil Prices
Stock futures are slightly higher as investors balance easing Treasury yields against renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and elevated oil prices. The conflict involving the U.S. and Iran featured new attacks around the Persian Gulf, pushing crude prices sharply higher. Oil has since pulled back from its overnight highs, but Brent remains around $95-$97 a barrel and WTI around $91-$93, keeping inflation concerns firmly in focus. The 10-year Treasury yield has slipped after approaching multi-year highs, while the dollar has also weakened. Lower yields are helping support equities, particularly growth and technology stocks, although the market remains highly sensitive to additional moves in oil.In pre-market trading, S&P 500 futures rose 0.18%, Nasdaq futures rose 0.01% and Dow futures rose 0.45%.Check out this morning's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER -Principal Financialup 5% after Korea Economic DailySamsung Life is seeking to acquire a 15% stake in the companyUP AFTER EARNINGS -Snowflakeup 24%Netskopeup 13%Duluth Holdingsup 11%Genescoup 7%Five Belowup 5%Cienaup 2%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Victoria's Secretdown 16%Campbell'sdown 6%HPEdown 4%Broadcomdown 3%Wileydown 2%LOWER -Ultragenyxdown 46% after reporting its Phase 3 Aspire study for apazunersen in Angelman syndrome did not achieve the primary endpointAdvasa Holdingsdown 11% after Katharyn Field formally resigned her position as CFOModernadown 2% after Rothschild & Co Redburn downgraded the stock to Sell from Neutral with a price target of $81, up from $40

Genesco Reports Q2 Revenue of $530M
Reports Q2 revenue $530M, consensus $527.26M. Mimi Vaughn, Genesco's Board Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We delivered second quarter bottom line results that were significantly better than last year and well ahead of our expectations. The quarter provides further evidence that our Footwear First strategy is working and our momentum is building. Journeys and Johnston & Murphy both delivered positive comparable sales in the quarter, and earnings improvement reflected the operating leverage we set out to build, with more full-price selling aiding gross margin recapture and disciplined expense management driving the stronger performance. As we anticipated, the decline in sales was driven by strategic actions: store closures, our license transition, and pullback on discounting at Schuh. As we move past these shorter-term headwinds, we expect sales trends to improve, and we remain confident that the initiatives underway across our company position us for profitable growth."
Genesco Shareholders Re-elect Nine Directors
Genesco announced that, based on preliminary voting results provided by its proxy solicitor following the Company's 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Genesco shareholders have voted to re-elect all nine of its highly qualified director nominees - Gregory Sandfort, Mimi Vaughn, Joanna Barsh, Matt Bilunas, Carolyn Bojanowski, John Lambros, Thurgood Marshall, Jr., Angel Martinez, and Mary Meixelsperger - to the Company's Board of Directors. Genesco issued the following statement: "We greatly appreciate the strong support of Genesco's shareholders in electing all nine of the Company's directors, and the confidence they have shown in our Board, management team and Footwear First strategy to create shareholder value. We are advancing our four strategic growth drivers - curate and create winning product; elevate distinctive brands; create exceptional customer experiences; and build amazing teams. Our full focus is on continuing to build on the clear momentum our organization has underway. We are confident in our path forward and excited to capitalize on the opportunities we see ahead for our brands."
Genesco Shareholder Meeting Independent Advisors Recommend Supporting Management Nominees
Genesco announced that independent proxy advisory firms Institutional Shareholder Services recommends that shareholders vote for all nine of the company's directors on the white proxy card in connection with its upcoming 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, which is scheduled to be held on July 21. In their report dated July 6, ISS stated, according to Genesco: "the dissidents have not made a compelling case for change. As such, support for all management nominees on the management card is warranted. Shareholders are also recommended to withhold votes from the dissidents' nominees, Ballard and Poskon."
