Fortrea and Omico Collaborate to Accelerate Precision Oncology Research
Fortrea and Omico announced a collaboration to accelerate precision oncology research by helping connect cancer patients to biomarker-matched clinical trials. By combining Omico's precision oncology network with Fortrea's scientific and clinical trial experience, the joint effort aims to improve study planning, site selection and patient recruitment to expand access to biomarker-driven oncology research globally. Through this initiative, Omico will support Fortrea's clients in their oncology drug development needs by providing access to patient population insights, including genomic profiling, trial-matching capabilities, real-world oncology data and patient referral pathways in Australia, a key country both for early and late phase Oncology clinical research activities.
Fortrea Acquires Worldwide's Early Phase Services Division for $45M
Fortrea and Worldwide Clinical Trials announced that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Fortrea will acquire Worldwide's Early Phase Services division, consisting of its Clinical Pharmacology Unit and Bioanalytical Laboratory operations. Worldwide will continue to support existing and future Phase I studies through its broader clinical development capabilities. Fortrea and Worldwide intend to enter into a series of agreements to support continuity for customers, employees and ongoing programs. These agreements are intended to maintain project momentum, preserve specialized capabilities and provide a seamless customer experience during and after the transition. Pursuant to a definitive agreement, Fortrea will acquire the Early Phase Services business from Worldwide in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $45M. The transaction is expected to close pending approval of necessary regulatory and license requirements, as well as the parties entering into certain services agreements. Once the transaction is complete, Early Phase Services will become part of Fortrea's Clinical Pharmacology Services business unit. Both companies remain committed to providing a seamless transition for employees, customers, and volunteers.

Fortrea Appoints Jason Knoblauch as CFO
Fortrea announced that Jason Knoblauch has been appointed as chief financial officer, effective July 6. He will succeed Jill McConnell, who is stepping down. Knoblauch joins Fortrea from Clario, a provider of endpoint data solutions to the clinical trials industry, where he served as CFO.
