EnerSys Appoints Navi Grewal as Chief Digital Officer
EnerSys announced the appointment of Navi Grewal as Chief Digital, AI and Information Officer, effective October 16, 2026. Grewal will report to Shawn O'Connell, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will serve as a member of the EnerSys Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Grewal will lead EnerSys' global digital, artificial intelligence, information technology, cybersecurity and enterprise data strategy. Her responsibilities will include modernizing global business systems, advancing digital transformation and establishing an enterprise AI strategy, with an emphasis on secure and reliable technology operations, data and automation.
EnerSys Advances Development of Alpha XM Edge Power System
EnerSys announced development progress on the Alpha XM Edge power system, a new outside plant power platform for cable broadband networks. The Alpha XM Edge power system uses a digital switch-mode architecture designed to improve power-conversion efficiency, simplify field service and provide greater visibility into power-system conditions. The system is progressing toward commercial availability in 2027. As broadband operators increase network capacity and evolve their access networks, power demand at the network edge is increasing while energy costs and field-resource constraints are becoming more important operating considerations. Even modest conversion losses at individual sites can accumulate across large installed power-supply estates. Efficiency is therefore a primary design objective for the Alpha XM Edge power system. The current design target is up to 96% peak efficiency, subject to completion of product validation and qualification. The digital switch-mode architecture is designed to improve conversion efficiency across a broad operating range compared with earlier ferro-resonant platforms. The Alpha XM Edge power system has completed key hardware and software development milestones. Current work includes system integration and validation, customer technical engagement, production-readiness activities and completion of the software capabilities planned for initial commercial release. Validation includes power-conversion efficiency and performance, line-to-standby transfer, protection behavior, modular serviceability, communications, configuration and field diagnostics. Expanded customer field evaluations are planned for fall 2026. At SCTE TechExpo26, taking place September 29-October 1, 2026, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, EnerSys will display a development-stage Alpha XM Edge power system. It will be incorporated into an outside plant enclosure with supporting energy storage, showing how the Alpha XM Edge system integrates with supporting energy storage in a representative outside plant configuration. EnerSys currently targets limited availability in spring 2027, followed by broader commercial availability in summer 2027, subject to successful completion of development, validation, qualification and production-readiness activities.
EnerSys Launches New Generation of High-Efficiency Cordex CXPS Power Systems
EnerSys announced the new generation of high-efficiency Cordex CXPS DC power system configurations, built around the new Cordex HP 48V-5.0kW rectifier for cable broadband and communications network applications. Delivering up to 97.1% peak efficiency, 5.0kW maximum output and 15kW/RU power density, the new rectifier is intended for integration with the Cordex CXPS-HX, CXPS-C and CXPS-W power systems. The planned integrations bring higher conversion efficiency and power density into DC power system configurations for headends, hubs and central offices, where energy use, power capacity and available space are increasingly linked. The rectifier is certified to CSA/UL 62368-1 for Canada and the United States, and IEC/EN 62368-1 for Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. As broadband networks expand capacity, the physical infrastructure supporting them does not necessarily expand at the same rate. Operators increasingly need to accommodate higher DC loads within existing rack and floor-space constraints while also managing the recurring energy cost of continuously powered network facilities. At the module level, the Cordex HP 48V-5.0kW rectifier addresses both constraints: less energy lost in conversion and more power delivered per rack unit.
Stock Futures Modestly Higher, Cerebras Systems Down 15%
Stock futures are modestly higher as investors digest softer-than-feared Producer Price Index data that follows yesterday's July CPI report. The Fed outlook has become somewhat more favorable for equities following the inflation data and the weak July employment report. Markets are now pricing roughly a 66% probability that the Fed holds rates steady at its next meeting, according to Reuters.Technology and AI infrastructure stocks remain an important source of strength. At the same time, Cerebras Systems is under pressure after its results missed expectations, highlighting how high expectations have become for companies tied to the AI buildout.Oil prices are providing some relief after six consecutive sessions of gains. Brent crude has fallen roughly 2% as concerns over global demand and rising U.S. crude inventories offset continued geopolitical risks surrounding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. In pre-market trading, S&P 500 futures rose 0.17%, Nasdaq futures fell 0.02% and Dow futures rose 0.30%.Check out this morning's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.UP AFTER EARNINGS -Jack in the Boxup 15%EnerSysup 14%Birkenstockup 12%Grocery Outletup 9%McGraw Hillup 3%BK Technologiesup 2%Red Robinup 2%Belite Bioup 1%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Cerebras Systemsdown 15%Tapestrydown 10%Yetidown 9%Intuitive Machinesdown 9%Ciscodown 7%Coherentdown 6%JD,comdown 3%Bending Spoonsdown 2%
Nasdaq 100 Contract Down 0.2%, Cisco Down 4.1%
Index futures are mixed in the opening hours of the evening session, with S&P e-minis flat, Dow Industrials up marginally, and Nasdaq 100 contract down by 0.2%. Softer than expected inflation data compressed yields and helped to propel the AI trade on Wednesday with many of this year's winners in Semiconductors, Semi Equipment, Memory, and Hardware leading the charge. The momentum of that exuberance could be fleeting however after post-earnings selloffs in some of the larger AI-themed stocks - Cisco slid 4% while Cerebras Systems retreated 16% afterhours. In commodities, WTI Crude Oil has continued to consolidate this month's advance with a 1% decline below $82.70. Precious metals are rangebound, though traders are positioning for renewed interest as expectations of Fed tightening recedes following the latest tamer inflation and softer labor economic reports.Check out this evening's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER AFTER EARNINGS -Harmonicup 19.2%Omerosup 18.7%EnerSysup 11.4%Grocery Outletup 10.6%Jack in the Boxup 5.2%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Cerebras Systemsdown 16.1%StubHub Holdingsdown 13.7%Resideo Technologiesdown 7.6%Pan American Silverdown 5.5%Coherentdown 4.2%Cisco Systemsdown 4.1%
