Charles River Laboratories Announces Research Collaboration Agreement with FDA
Charles River Laboratories announced a Research Collaboration Agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Labcorp for developing sensitive screening tools to quantify and rank the abuse potential of new drugs, including abuse-deterrent formulations and emerging drugs of abuse. The agreement establishes a joint research framework to enhance objective, standardized metrics for quantifying abuse potential in preclinical models which may inform regulatory assessments of abuse potential under the Controlled Substances Act.
Labcorp Collaborates with FDA and Charles River to Advance Drug Abuse Potential Evaluation
Labcorp (LH) announced a collaboration with the FDA and Charles River Laboratories (CRL) to advance the science used to evaluate a medicine's abuse potential, or the likelihood that it could be abused. The research aims to support safer drug development and more informed regulatory decisions. The collaboration brings together complementary expertise from industry and government. Labcorp will contribute its experience conducting regulatory abuse potential studies, while FDA scientists will conduct data analysis and contribute regulatory science expertise. Together, the organizations aim to advance the science used to evaluate the risk that a medicine could be abused using harmonized behavioral economics methodology to quantify and rank abuse potential.
Charles River Laboratories Partners with Magellan Stem Cells for Therapy Development
Charles River Laboratories and Magellan Stem Cells announce their collaboration to support Magellan in the development and clinical advancement of its proprietary stem cell-based therapies and regenerative medicine solutions. The partnership will leverage Charles River's specialized expertise in biologics quality control, current Good Manufacturing Practice viral and release testing, and extensive development support services.
Charles River Laboratories and Autolomous Launch Apollo Orchestrate
Charles River Laboratories International and Autolomous announced the launch of Apollo Orchestrate, a new capability within Charles River's Apollo platform that connects and digitizes laboratory execution, built on Autolomous's autoloMATE digital Laboratory Execution System. Apollo Orchestrate marks a significant milestone in the Company's broader, ongoing transition toward a fully digital laboratory experience which is connected, compliant, and scalable. "Biological testing ensures that a medicine is safe, effective, and ready for patients, but data collection and management across fragmented, often manual and paper-based systems from R&D to commercial release create unnecessary delays for patients, opportunities for errors, audit risks, and lost revenue," said Alexander Seyf, CEO of Autolomous. "We designed autoloMATE to enable life sciences companies to connect that data directly into an integrated, digitized workflow and increase speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness."
PMGC Holdings Subsidiary Signs Statement of Work with Charles River Laboratories
PMGC Holdings (PMGC) announced that its subsidiary, NorthStrive Biosciences has executed a Statement of Work with Charles River Laboratories (CRL) to conduct analytical characterization supporting the development of NorthStrive Biosciences' EL-22 and EL-32 engineered probiotic programs.
