Civista Bancshares Completes Leadership Transition, Chuck Parcher Takes CEO Role

Civista Bancshare announced the completion of its previously announced leadership transition. Charles "Chuck" Parcher has assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Civista Bancshares and Civista Bank, effective today. Parcher succeeds Dennis Shaffer, who has retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Civista Bancshares and Chief Executive Officer of Civista Bank following more than 40 years in the banking industry. Shaffer will remain Chairman of the Board and continue serving on Civista's Board of Directors.

Civista Bancshares Expands Net Interest Margin to 3.89% in Q2

Net interest margin expanded 25 basis points year-over-year to 3.89% while cost of funds declined 37 basis points. "Civista delivered a strong second quarter and first half of 2026, reflecting continued execution of our strategy and the strength of our balance sheet," said Dennis Shaffer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Civista Bancshares. "During the quarter, net interest margin expanded, funding costs continued to improve, credit quality remained stable, and our efficiency ratio improved significantly from a year ago. These results demonstrate the benefits of disciplined balance sheet management and our ongoing focus on operational excellence."

Civista Bancshares Reports Q1 Net Income of $15.0M

Reports Q1 Tangible book value per share was $19.70; and return on average assets improved to 1.41%, compared to 1.00% last year. "Civista reported a solid start to 2026, with Q1 net income of $15.0M, or 72c per diluted share," said Dennis Shaffer, President and CEO of Civista Bancshares. "Results for the quarter reflected continued expansion in net interest margin, disciplined expense management, and stable credit performance, while we proactively managed the balance sheet in a changing operating environment. During the Q1, we continued to optimize our funding mix by reducing higher-cost sources, including brokered deposits and short-term FHLB advances, while growing core deposits," Shaffer said. "These actions contributed to lower funding costs and further strengthened our liquidity profile."
