Woodward Appoints Paxton McVoy as Chief Information Officer
Woodward (WWD) announced the appointment of Paxton McVoy as executive VP and chief information officer, or CIO, effective Oct. 19. He will join the company's executive leadership team, reporting directly to CEO Chip Blankenship. In this newly created role, McVoy will lead Woodward's global information technology organization and set the direction for the company's digital strategy, including enterprise resource planning, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and technology-enabled business transformation. McVoy joins Woodward from Veralto (VLTO), where he was senior VP and chief information officer.
Woodward Selected to Provide System for Airbus Folding Wing Research
Woodward (WWD) has been selected to provide an actuation system in support of Airbus' (EADSY) Folding Wing research activity. The ground-based demonstrator is aimed at exploring how longer wings can reduce drag and advance aerodynamic efficiency for future aircraft. Woodward is supplying a complete system for wing actuation, including a power delivery unit, a high-power hinge actuator, and several additional components. This will be tested in Airbus' test facilities in Bremen, Germany, and in Bristol, U.K. This also includes support for trade studies with Airbus on several design elements, including hydraulic or electric power for the system.

Woodward Plans to Transition Production Out of California Facility
Woodward announced its plans to transition production out of its Santa Clarita, California, facility to streamline its portfolio and refine its manufacturing footprint. Production of military fixed-wing and rotorcraft flight control actuation will move to Woodward's world-class aerospace manufacturing campus in Spartanburg, South Carolina, which is currently in advanced stages of construction. Separately, Woodward has agreed to sell a smaller group of legacy commercial rotorcraft, land systems, and business jet products made in Santa Clarita, along with the campus itself, in a transaction expected to close in fiscal year 2027. Woodward is expected to cease operations at the Santa Clarita facility no later than December 2027. The decision is expected to affect about 400 roles at the facility, with phased transitions through the planned move. The Spartanburg facility is expected to go online in the summer of 2027 and as previously announced, will produce Airbus A350 spoiler actuation systems, in addition to the transferred product lines and other aerospace components.
HAECO and Woodward Sign Long-Term Strategic Partnership Agreement
HAECO and Woodward have signed an elite licensed repair service facility, or LRSF, agreement, establishing a long-term strategic partnership to support Woodward components on the CFM International LEAP-1A, LEAP-1B, and LEAP-1C engines. Under the terms of the Elite LRSF agreement, HAECO is authorized to deliver a full suite of MRO services for Woodward's entire product portfolio of fuel control, engine actuation, and air management systems supporting the CFM LEAP engine family.
