S&P Global Expands Collaboration with Microsoft to Integrate AI Data
S&P Global (SPGI) announced an expanded collaboration with Microsoft (MSFT) to integrate the breadth of S&P Global AI-ready data, insights and analytics into Microsoft 365 Copilot workflows and agentic experiences. The collaboration gives customers a seamless way to access S&P Global intelligence within the Microsoft tools they already use, helping them move from complexity to clarity faster with information that is transparent, traceable and grounded in trusted sources. Building on the existing integration of S&P Global Energy AI Ready Data in Microsoft 365 Copilot, this expanded collaboration brings S&P Global capabilities into the Microsoft ecosystem in a way that supports how customers already work. Rather than placing data into a standalone AI environment, the solution connects licensed S&P Global content to Microsoft 365 Copilot experiences, including a Copilot in Excel connector for analyst workflows and a plugin for agentic experiences in Copilot Cowork. Key capabilities include: Establishes a secure, connected foundation for accessing S&P Global content within Microsoft AI experiences; Integrates S&P Global's essential intelligence directly into modeling, research and reporting, users can query data, compare entities and generate analysis within a familiar spreadsheet interface; Extends S&P Global data into multi-step analysis processes within Microsoft 365; Supports trusted data retrieval for use in Microsoft 365 Copilot with source attribution.
S&P Global Enters Agreement to Acquire datacenterHawk
S&P Global announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire datacenterHawk, a provider of proprietary intelligence for the global data center, fiber optic and related infrastructure markets. The transaction is expected to close in 2H 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on the financial results of S&P Global or the S&P Global Energy division.
S&P Global Acquires Majority Stake in Agusto & Co.
S&P Global announced that it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Agusto & Co., a Pan-African rating agency with operations in Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana. The investment, a strategic step for both companies, will complement and support the growth strategy of the S&P Global Ratings division in Africa. By combining S&P Global's international expertise and resources with Agusto & Co.'s strong Pan-African presence and reputation for excellence, the partnership aims to expand market insights, strengthen credit transparency, and support market participants across the region. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Subject to obtaining all required regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close during the second half of 2026.
