Publicly traded companies in the space include Neurocrine Biosciences, Exelixis, Alnylam, BioMarin, United Therapeutics, Ionis, Bio-Techne, and Alkermes.DATA-SHARING DEALS:The Trump administration has struck data-sharing deals with OpenAI, Google, Meta, Amazon, and other tech companies to track how AI is affecting jobs and hiring, Courtenay Brown of Axios. The Labor Department has signed memorandums of understanding with "a lot of these tech companies," acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling told Axios.
Shoals Technologies Wins Lawsuit, Awarded Over $96 Million
Shoals Technologies announced a favorable outcome in its patent infringement lawsuit against Voltage, LLC and Ningbo Voltage Smart Production Co. in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. In a decisive win for Shoals during today's ruling, the jury found that Voltage willfully infringed Shoals' patents, awarded Shoals over $96 million in damages and soundly rejected Voltage's arguments challenging the validity of Shoals' patents. The judgment is subject to potential further increase at the Court's discretion due to the jury's finding of willfulness. Further, the Court indicated that it will grant a preliminary injunction preventing the manufacture, distribution or sale of the Voltage LYNX product in the United States with immediate effect. The North Carolina verdict follows multiple rulings that upheld Shoals' intellectual property, including Shoals' June victory before the International Trade Commission, which found that Voltage's LYNX product infringed Shoals' patents covering aspects of its Big Lead Assembly products and barred importation of Voltage's infringing products. The Presidential Review Period for the ITC determination has now lapsed without intervention, bringing that matter to final resolution. "Shoals' patented BLA solution helped revolutionize the solar industry," said Brandon Moss, CEO of Shoals. "These outcomes affirm the strength of our intellectual property and the importance of protecting the innovations behind our differentiated solutions. We are grateful to the Court and jury for their time, attention, and careful consideration. Shoals will continue to compete aggressively, invest in American manufacturing, and defend the technology that supports our long-term growth."

Today, I am taking action to put a stop to these practices and revitalize the United States polysilicon sector."In light of these findings and the other findings in the Secretary's report, the Secretary recommended a range of actions to adjust imports of polysilicon and polysilicon derivatives so that such imports will not threaten to impair the national security of the United States. The Secretary recommended the establishment of minimum import prices for polysilicon and polysilicon derivatives to create a protected domestic market that allows United States producers to compete free from global distortions. The Secretary also recommended that I impose a 15 percent ad valorem rate of duty on downstream polysilicon derivatives. The Secretary recommended that these two remedies be accompanied by an onshoring program to encourage companies to build new United States polysilicon, ingot, wafer, and cell production facilities."The applicable minimum import prices for imported polysilicon and polysilicon derivatives shall be: $21 per kilogram for polysilicon; $100 per kilogram for polysilicon ingots and wafers; $0.22 per watt for solar cells; and $0.38 per watt for solar modules." EVgo Superchargers will appear on the in-car Teslanavigation, and Tesla drivers can be automatically routed to these sites using the Tesla Trip Planner. Deployments will start this fall, and the first EVgo Supercharger sites are expected to be operational in the second half of 2026. Consumer demand on the EVgo network has increased over 700% in the last three years, and the addition of Superchargers will continue to accelerate EVgo's network growth. With more than 35 NACS-equipped models anticipated by the end of 2026 and more than 3 million Tesla vehicles already sold in the U.S., this expansion will ensure EVgo continues to lead with NACS.BUY ENERGY FUELS:Roth Capital upgraded Energy Fuelsto Buy from Neutral with an unchanged price target of $16. The company's Q2 results were below expectations, but this did not materially impact the stock's valuation, the firm told investors in a research note. Roth said Energy Fuels' valuation has returned to "more normalized" mining industry metrics and multiples, while the company has also strengthened its long-term outlook. It believes the company is "on the cusp" of completing multiple acquisitions that would allow it to control a full mine to magnet supply chain.

Options to be discussed include research initiatives, both forward- and backward-looking studies, the sources added. Publicly traded companies that make vaccines include Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, Novavax, GSK, AstraZeneca, and Emergent BioSolutions.INTEL STAKE:IntelCFO David Zinsner received a call from a U.S commerce department official last year, who floated the idea of taking a 10% stake in the company, but Zinsner was bluntly told any transaction was not up for negotiation, Michael Acton of The Financial Times, citing an internal Intel memo and sources close to the process. In order for the stake to reach the 10% demanded by President Trump, Intel would need to convert billions in manufacturing grants from the 2022 Chips Act as well as $3.2B worth of contracts from the Department of Defense into equity. While the company's board initially resisted, it eventually acquiesced and the government took its stake, saving the company from a possible break-up. Intel has since pulled in a $5B investment from Nvidiaand a $2B investment from SoftBank. While the alliance with President Trump alone will not be enough, the investment definitely reversed its narrative of decline.
