Net Power Signs Agreements to Advance Power Strategy

Net Power announced two agreements advancing its "power-first strategy prioritizing speed, reliability, and scale for large-load customers," the company said. Net Power has secured the rights to acquire 123 megawatts of new power generation equipment which, upon closing of the agreement, would bring Net Power's total potential power generation capacity to nearly 200 MW for the first phase of Project Permian, its inaugural powered land project in Texas. Separately, Net Power and a prospective end customer have entered into a cost reimbursement agreement that provides for, among other things, the reimbursement of certain costs incurred by Net Power in connection with the procurement of the 123 MW of new equipment.

Net Power Reports $310 Million in Cash and Investments

As of June 30, 2026, the Company had $310 million in cash, cash equivalents, and investments. The Company believes it has the ability to manage its operating costs such that its existing liquidity will be sufficient to fund its obligations for the next 12 months following the filing of its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. "We've spent the last four months in an intensive customer engagement and marketing process. We believe that process has given us a clear read on what the market will buy today, and we are focusing the business accordingly. Our commercial strategy is recalibrated around what we believe today's power customers are actually prioritizing: speed-to-power, reliability, and scale. Natural gas power generation, co-located with customer load and deployable on a fast timeline, is how we expect to meet that demand today. We continue to believe carbon capture and sequestration will play an integral role in the future of natural gas power, and our approach preserves that pathway, adding carbon capture in future phases as customer requirements, economics, and financing support it. We anticipate this flexibility will enable us to capture near-term demand now while holding onto the long-term decarbonization opportunity we've always believed in," said Danny Rice, Chief Executive Officer of Net Power.

Net Power CEO Says Will Drive Project Financing

"We remain excited about the opportunity set in front of us and believe Net Power's in-house engineering capabilities and expertise in power generation and carbon capture utilization can transform natural gas into the lowest-cost form of clean, reliable electricity," said Danny Rice, Chief Executive Officer of Net Power. "As a critical next step to securing a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for Project Permian Phase I and subsequent larger scale Net Power deployments, Net Power has engaged a strategic advisor to facilitate our power offtake discussions. Successfully securing a formalized offtake agreement will catalyze our project financing and keep us on track for a final investment decision in the back half of this year-preserving our timeline to become the first operational natural gas power plant with post-combustion carbon capture in the United States."
