Longeveron Appoints Nirav Jhaveri as CFO
Longeveron (LGVN) announced that the company has appointed Nirav Jhaveri to the company's executive leadership team in the role of CFO, principal financial officer and principal accounting officer. He succeeds Marie Washburn who stepped into the role following the retirement of the prior CFO. Washburn will return to her former role as the company's corporate controller. Before joining Longeveron, Jhaveri served as CFO of Opus Genetics (IRD).

Reports Q2 revenue $755,000, consensus $2.57M. "With a focus on execution, we are rapidly advancing five gene therapy programs that address significant unmet need in inherited retinal diseases, with OPGx-BEST1 Cohort 1 clinical data targeted for the second week of September and four additional clinical readouts expected in 2027," said George Magrath, Chief Executive Officer of Opus Genetics. Opus Genetics Completes Last Patient Enrollment in OPGx-LCA5 Trial
Opus Genetics announced that the last patient has been enrolled in its registrational Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating OPGx-LCA5, the company's investigational gene therapy for LCA5-associated inherited retinal disease.
Opus Genetics Updates on OPGx-BEST1 Clinical Trial Progress
Opus Genetics provided updates on its ongoing OPGx-BEST1 Phase 1/2 clinical trial targeting BEST-1 associated inherited retinal diseases. The company expects to announce three-month topline data from the study's first cohort during the second week of September 2026. Additionally, Opus plans to present the clinical findings at the EURETINA Congress in Vienna, Austria, which is scheduled for October 1-4. Enrollment in the initial cohort was completed in May. "We continue to work closely with our study sites and investigators to support this trial," said George Magrath, CEO of Opus Genetics. "For the significant number of BEST1 patients in the U.S. and globally, there is a substantial need for treatment options, with no therapies currently available today."
