Terrestrial Energy Ends Q2 with $283.4M Cash, Projects $2.7B Revenue
Ended second quarter with $283.4 million in cash, cash equivalents and investments. "This quarter we reported developments across all three pillars of our business plan. We secured site control at the Texas A&M-RELLIS site, advanced projects TETRA and TEFLA, and received NRC approval of our Postulated Initiating Events methodology," said Simon Irish, Chief Executive Officer of Terrestrial Energy. "Engineering progress has allowed us to re-estimate our unit economics, particularly for our two principal businesses of IMSR Core-unit and Fuel Salt supply. We now estimate $2.7 billion of cumulative lifetime revenue per IMSR Plant, up from $2.1 billion, with a blended gross margin of 33%. This lifts our serviceable addressable market to $2.3 trillion by 2050. These economics achieved with a capital-light business model, illustrate the value of IMSR Core-unit and Fuel Salt supply."
Terrestrial Energy Appoints Pamela Cowan as EVP of Engineering
Terrestrial Energy announced the addition of Pamela Cowan as EVP of Engineering. She will be based at the Charlotte, N.C. headquarters and report to Terrestrial Energy CEO Simon Irish. She has served as a senior vice president at Holtec International and was chief operating officer of one of Holtec's principal businesses, leading its operations and the integration of acquired nuclear plant assets.
Terrestrial Energy Signs Engineering Services Agreement with Zachry Group
Terrestrial Energy and Zachry Group announced they have signed an Engineering Services Agreement, ESA. Under the agreement, Zachry will provide nuclear engineering services including civil structures, mechanical, and electrical systems supporting Terrestrial Energy's design, development, and licensing activities at Texas A&M-RELLIS. "This agreement adds an important engineering partner to our work at Texas A&M-RELLIS. Zachry's depth of nuclear engineering and construction experience strengthens the technical rigor we bring to our site characterization and licensing activities. It also builds on a working relationship that has developed over several years and reflects the caliber of partners we are assembling to support our commercial pipeline in Texas," said Simon Irish, CEO of Terrestrial Energy.
Terrestrial Energy Signs R&D Agreements with Texas A&M University System
The company states: "Terrestrial Energy and The Texas A&M University System have signed ground lease and R&D agreements. These agreements provide exclusive access and rights to approximately 77 acres at the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus in Bryan, Texas, facilitate testing activities, and cover multiple projects, including the planned commercial IMSR Plant at A&M-RELLIS. The projects were initiated following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the A&M System announced in 2025 after its selection of Terrestrial Energy to participate in its Energy Proving Ground initiative, which was established to bring advanced nuclear capacity to the campus. The initiative echoes nuclear policy objectives established by Governor Abbott and the Texas state legislature to catalyze development of advanced nuclear technologies in Texas and their rapid deployment on the ERCOT grid, one of the fastest-growing electricity markets in the country. Growing demand for reliable electricity from data centers, advanced manufacturing, industrial expansion, and other energy-intensive applications continues to drive interest in new sources of firm, carbon-free generation across Texas."
