GE Aerospace Acquires Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75B

After GE Aerospace (GE) announced it will acquire Consolidated Precision Products from Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners for $11.75B, Jefferies estimates the deal could be 1.5% accretive to its 2028 EPS forecast of $10.25. However, this is "not about the accretion," but "an impactful move in the Blades & Vanes War Games," the analyst tells investors. SpaceX (SPCX) has committed to self-producing its own blades and vanes, while GE in-houses a meaningful portion of its own demand here, explains the analyst, who adds that multiples for Howmet Aerospace (HWM) and DPC Holdings (DPC) have come in as investors fear competition. The firm keeps a Buy rating and $455 price target on GE shares.

Deutsche Bank Says SpaceX's Entry into Gas Turbine Market Poses Limited Threat

After Elon Musk said SpaceX (SPCX) intends to build its own blades and vanes for industrial gas turbines, Deutsche Bank stated in a note on Siemens Energy (SMEGF) that investors appear concerned that SpaceX could enter the gas turbine market and disrupt pricing dynamics, adding that "this potential development is far less threatening than it looks at first glance." The firm adds that "in theory" SpaceX could partner with one of the established blade manufacturers, such as Howmet (HWM) or Berkshire Hathaway's (BRK.A) Precision Castparts.
