DaVita Partners with Humana on New Value-Based Care Agreement
DaVita (DVA) announced a new value-based care agreement to deliver coordinated care to Humana (HUM) Medicare Advantage members with chronic kidney disease stages 3B-5. The company said, "Launched July 1, this partnership builds on the organizations' long-standing collaboration in end stage kidney disease and expands earlier into the disease journey, when intervention can have the greatest impact. As the healthcare system aims for more impactful, value-based, preventive care, DaVita continues to lead in managing complex chronic conditions earlier. Through DaVita Integrated Kidney Care, patients receive coordinated, whole-person care that addresses the interconnected nature of cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic health - reducing fragmentation and avoidable hospital admissions."
Humana Appoints Shantanu Nundy as Chief Medical Officer
Humana announced that Shantanu Nundy, M.D., will join the company as Chief Medical Officer, effective August 31. Dr. Nundy will report to Jim Rechtin, Humana President and CEO, and will serve as a member of the company's Enterprise Leadership Team. Dr. Nundy most recently served as Executive Vice President of Care Delivery and Chief Health Officer at Accolade
Humana Collaborates with HealthStream to Expand Healthcare Services in Indiana
Humana (HUM) Healthy Horizons in Indiana, Humana's Medicaid managed care plan, is collaborating with HealthStream (HSTM). "Expanding access to training is one of the most direct ways we can grow and stabilize the caregiving workforce, particularly in rural and underserved communities," said Anna Dunn, Medicaid Plan President, Humana Healthy Horizons in Indiana. "Through our collaboration with HealthStream, we're making it easier for individuals to enter the profession while helping providers build and retain strong teams, thereby addressing gaps in care for Hoosiers who previously lacked access to home-based health services."
