Claude Launches $35M Fund to Enhance Cybersecurity

In a blog update, Claude commented on its efforts to help more teams use frontier capabilities for cyber defense. "Claude Mythos 5 is now available in Claude Security, and coming soon to partners' cyber defense tools. We're also launching a $35M fund to help secure open-source software and sharing plans to expand our Cyber Verification Program. The riskiest behavior occurs when a user has direct access to a model, where a malicious actor can try to steer it toward harmful uses. But if users can only receive specific outputs, such as a patch for a vulnerability or a security alert, that risk is much lower. The changes we're announcing give users greater access to the defensive results, while maintaining appropriate guardrails around direct access to the model: Claude Mythos 5 integration into the tools defenders rely on. We're working with our cybersecurity technology and services partners to integrate Claude Mythos 5 into the products and services defenders already use to secure their software. Claude Security scans can now run on Claude Mythos 5. Customers on Claude Enterprise plans can now run our most capable model in Claude Security, using it to scan their codebases for security vulnerabilities and suggest patches.$35M in credits for open-source security. Our new Defender Advantage Fund will provide $35M in credits to organizations working to patch vulnerabilities in open-source projects, automate parts of the process of scanning and patching open-source software, and experiment with new security approaches. Expanding our Cyber Verification Program. The program already gives vetted defenders reduced safeguards on Opus and Sonnet models. In the coming weeks, we will expand this program to include broader dual-use capabilities on Opus and Sonnet, with Mythos-class access to follow... We will continue to work with government partners, organizations, open-source maintainers, and the broader industry to build the resilient cyber infrastructure today's highly capable AI models demand." Publicly traded companies in the space include Check Point (CHKP), CrowdStrike (CRWD), CyberArk (CYBR), F5 (FFIV), Fortinet (FTNT), Gen Digital (GEN), Okta (OKTA), Palo Alto Networks (PANW) and Qualys (QLYS).

F5 Introduces AI Guardrails Integrated with NVIDIA

F5 (FFIV) introduced F5 AI Guardrails integrated with NVIDIA (NVDA) NeMo Guardrails. "F5 AI Guardrails integrated with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails brings centralized, consistent security and governance across AI applications by separating security enforcement from the AI framework," the analyst tells investors. Organizations can standardize on NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails while F5 AI Guardrails handles security inspection of prompts and LLM responses, applying enterprise policies centrally without requiring changes to AI applications. The result is a layered architecture where the framework library, microservices, orchestration, and security each do what they do best and evolve independently.

Energy Stocks Drop, Nvidia Falls 5% on AI Investment

Headline-driven risk regarding the uncertainty in the standoff between the US and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz passage, as well as the magnitude of AI investment being made by Tech megacaps, continues to play out in Monday's trading.  Energy was the worst performing sector in the S&P 500 as the US has paused its military activity in Iran with a new focus on diplomacy.  Industry giants such as Chevronand Exxon Mobilwere down by 1%-2% while Devon Energyfell over 4%.  In the Tech space, investors sneered at Nvidiafor announcing $750B in total spend between its $250 backstop for OpenAI and a $500B joint investment with South Korea's SK Group, sending the stock down by 5% to three-week lows.   Other semiconductors and semiconductor equipment names traded lower in sympathy while the "anti-AI trade" - enterprise software - was generally strong.    Traders also piled into the Consumer Defensive sector as Walmartand Costcocontinued their bounce for the second day in a row.In the opening hour of the evening session S&P e-minis are trading flat while the NASDAQ 100 contract is down 0.2%.   WTI crude oil remains under pressure, trading closer to $82% per barrel.   Sentiment swings and wide trading ranges could remain a theme this week with more hyperscalers on deck for quarterly earnings as well as a Federal Reserve policy decision this coming Wednesday.Check out this evening's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER AFTER EARNINGS -OPKO Health, Inc.up 8.9%Celesticaup 8.1%Applied Digitalup 5.6%Happenup 4.0%Cadence Design Systemsup 3.2%F5, Inc.up 1.0%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Universal Health Servicesdown 4.7%Noble Corporationdown 4.4%Amkor Technologydown 3.5%Kforcedown 2.9%Cincinnati Financialdown 2.4%ALSO LOWER -Aehr Test Systemsdown 4.6% after equity offering
