Cathay General Bancorp CFO Heng W. Chen to Retire in 2026
Cathay General Bancorp announced that Heng W. Chen will retire as Chief Financial Officer of Cathay General Bancorp and Cathay Bank and Treasurer of Cathay General Bancorp, effective March 1, 2026, following a nearly 42-year career in auditing and finance, including 23 years of service at Cathay. Albert J. Wang, who currently serves as Deputy Chief Financial Officer, will succeed Chen as Chief Financial Officer of Cathay and Treasurer of Cathay General Bancorp. Chen will remain as a Special Advisor to the Office of the President for Cathay Bank through December 31, 2026. "I would like to thank Heng for his decades-long contributions to Cathay," said Chang M. Liu, President and CEO of Cathay. "His financial acumen, integrity and unwavering commitment to making sound, strategic decisions have left a lasting legacy. We respect Heng's personal decision to retire and wish him all the best in his well-earned next chapter."
Company Reports Q4 Revenue of $204.7M
Reports Q4 revenue $204.7M, consensus $211.8M. The Company recorded a provision for credit losses of $17.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to $28.7 million in the third quarter of 2025. The net interest margin was 3.36% for the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to 3.31% for the third quarter of 2025. "We are pleased by the continued increase in the net interest margin compared to the third quarter of 2025 and fourth quarter of 2024. During the fourth quarter of 2025, we repurchased 1,099,803 shares at an average cost of $47.15 per share for a total of $51.9 million," commented Chang M. Liu, CEO.
