Ardent Health Appoints Gaurav Khanna as Chief Digital & Information Officer

Ardent Health announced the appointment of Gaurav Khanna as chief digital & information officer. In this role, Khanna will lead Ardent's technology, data, AI and digital strategy to support patient care, operational excellence and long-term growth. "His deep experience in healthcare technology and digital transformation will help us strengthen the foundation needed to support our teams and advance our strategic goals." Khanna brings more than 20 years of healthcare technology leadership experience, with a track record of using digital, data and AI capabilities to drive business transformation, operational performance and consumer experience. Most recently, he served as vice president and segment chief information officer for CenterWell Pharmacy, part of Humana's healthcare services business, where he led technology, data and AI strategy supporting a nearly $11 billion business.

University of Kansas Health System Acquires St. Francis Campus

The University of Kansas Health System and Ardent Health announced the signing of a definitive agreement today for The University of Kansas Health System to acquire full ownership of St. Francis Campus and affiliated care locations in Topeka, following a successful joint venture partnership of nearly 10 years. Under the new ownership structure, all operational responsibilities and clinical functions previously managed by Ardent Health since the beginning of the partnership will transition to The University of Kansas Health System, further integrating the campus into its broader health system. "As St. Francis enters this exciting new era, we will continue to focus on what matters most: expanding access to exceptional care, supporting our local workforce and improving the health of the communities we serve," said Bob Page, CEO of The University of Kansas Health System. "This transition is aligned with our initial commitment to sustain and grow the hospital and clinics in service to future generations." The transaction is subject to necessary approvals and other customary closing conditions, with both organizations expecting to complete the transition by the end of 2026. Ardent Health Expands Medical Services with UT Health East Texas Partnership

Ardent Health marked a milestone in its East Texas partnership as UT Health East Texas expanded specialty care into the new UT Tyler School of Medicine Building in Tyler - the first time patient services and physician training share a single hub in the region. The building now houses UT Health East Texas women's health, pulmonary, orthopedic, imaging and surgical care alongside the region's first medical school. The expansion builds on the joint venture Ardent formed with The University of Texas System in 2018 to expand access to care and grow the local physician workforce in a region facing persistent health challenges. Northeast Texas, a 35-county area of roughly 1.6M people, would rank among the least healthy states in the country if measured on its own, according to research led by UT Tyler.
