The Company's Alico Citrus segment includes activities related to planting, owning, cultivating and/or managing citrus groves to produce fruit for sale to fresh and processed citrus markets, including activities related to the purchase and resale of fruit and value-added services, which include contracting for the harvesting, marketing and hauling of citrus. The Company's Land Management and Other Operations segment includes activities related to the leasing of citrus groves, farming, grazing and hunting leasing, management and/or conservation of unimproved native pastureland and activities related to rock mining royalties and other insignificant lines of business. The Company owns approximately 46,587 acres of land in eight Florida counties and 44,700 acres of oil, gas and mineral rights throughout Florida.
Alico Inc is currently not a strong buy due to mixed signals in its financial performance and technical indicators. The stock is trading at $38.35, which is below its recent highs, and the RSI is at 40.985, indicating it is nearing oversold territory but not yet a strong buy signal. The forward P/E ratio is high at 57.4713, suggesting that the stock may be overvalued at this price point. Additionally, the recent earnings report showed a positive surprise with EPS of 0.29, up from an estimate of -0.73, but the overall revenue has been declining, which raises concerns about sustainability. The main risk is the high forward P/E ratio, which indicates potential overvaluation.
