Tectonic Therapeutic Appoints Francois Nader as Independent Director
Tectonic Therapeutic announced it has appointed Francois Nader as an independent director to its board of directors, effective April 1, at which time he will also assume the role of chair of the board. Upon Nader assuming the role as independent director to the board of directors, Terry McGuire will resign from his role as chair of the board, a role which Nader will immediately assume. In order to provide for a smooth leadership transition, McGuire will remain a member of the board of directors until Tectonic's 2026 annual meeting of stockholders, which is anticipated to be in June.
Tectonic Therapeutics announces Q3 EPS of $1.02, below consensus estimate of $1.05
"Our team continued to advance our lead asset TX45 with the positive topline data from Part B of our Phase 1b study in patients with HFrEF. Following our recent presentation of the full Part A data set at the ESC Heart Failure 2025 Congress, the improvements demonstrated in both left heart function and pulmonary hemodynamics across both PH-HFrEF and PH-HFpEF populations suggest TX45 has the potential to be effective in a broad patient population," said Alise Reicin, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Tectonic. "Enrollment continues in our global APEX Phase 2 trial in PH-HFpEF, and we expect to report topline results from that study in 2026."
Truist: Tectonic pullback on Eli Lilly's relaxin data is excessive
Truist analyst Danielle Brill notes that shares of Tectonic Therapeutic (TECX) are off by greater than 30% following Eli Lilly's (LLY) data presentation and publication from their failed study in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction patients with recombinant long acting relaxin mimetic, volenrelaxin. The negative news "represents another hit to the emerging relaxin class of drugs," but the firm also notes that read-through should be limited as the population enrolled in Lilly's trial is distinct from those enrolled in Tectonic's. The firm, which believes Tectonic's approach of targeting Combined Post- and Pre-Capillary Pulmonary Hypertension has "the strongest rationale" and calls selloff "overdone," keeps a Buy rating and $64 price target on Tectonic shares.
Tectonic Therapeutic joins Russell 3000 Index
Tectonic Therapeutic announced that it has been added to the broad-market Russell 3000 Index. Tectonic's addition follows the conclusion of the 2025 Russell US Indexes annual reconstitution and is effective after the open of US equity markets on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Tectonic Therapeutic reports 'positive' data from Phase 1b trial for TX45
Tectonic Therapeutic announced positive interim data from the Phase 1b acute hemodynamic clinical trial of its lead product candidate, TX45, a long-acting, Fc-relaxin fusion protein. The interim data showed that a single intravenous dose of TX45 resulted in meaningful improvements in both left ventricular function and pulmonary hemodynamics in patients with Group 2 Pulmonary Hypertension in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction. In the trial, TX45 was well tolerated in patients with PH-HFpEF with no serious or severe adverse events. In the overall study population, TX45 achieved a 17.9% reduction in pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, an endpoint known to correlate with exercise capacity, morbidity and mortality in patients with heart failure. In the subpopulation with combined pre- and post-capillary pulmonary hypertension who have an elevated Pulmonary Vascular Resistance and more severe disease, TX45 demonstrated greater than30% reduction in PVR, which along with PCWP is correlated to exercise capacity and mortality in these patients. The Phase 1b trial enrolled a patient population and evaluated hemodynamic endpoints which are similar to our ongoing APEX Phase 2 clinical trial. APEX is a 24-week clinical trial in PH-HFpEF with topline results expected in 2026. "These interim results show that TX45 achieved improvements in hemodynamics which met and exceeded our prespecified objectives. We are highly encouraged that TX45 improved left ventricular function and pulmonary hemodynamics, because we believe improving both parameters is necessary to improve exercise capacity and outcomes in patients with pulmonary hypertension with HFpEF," said Alise Reicin, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Tectonic. "We believe these Phase 1b interim data accelerate momentum of our TX45 clinical program as our ongoing Phase 2 APEX trial is designed to enroll a similar patient population and evaluate the same endpoints. These data strengthen our confidence in advancing TX45 for the many patients with PH-HFpEF who face high mortality and have no currently approved treatments."
