Shore Bancshares Authorizes $30M Stock Buyback
Shore Bancshares has authorized the repurchase of up to $30M of the company's outstanding common stock over the next 12 months. The repurchase program may be modified, amended or terminated by the board at any time. The company is not obligated to purchase any shares under the repurchase program.
Shore Bancshares Declares Quarterly Dividend of 14 Cents
Shore Bancshares has declared a quarterly dividend of 14c per share, which represents a 2c, or 16.7%, increase from the dividend paid in the prior quarter. The common stock dividend is payable on June 17 to holders of record at the close of business on June 3.
Shore Bancshares Q1 Net Interest Margin at 3.64%
Reports Q1 net interest margin 3.64% vs. 3.21% last year. Tangible book value per common share at period end was $15.30 from $14.87 last quarter and $13.58 a year ago. Tier 1 and Total Risk-Based Capital Ratios at March 31 were 11.60% and 14.08%, respectively. "Shore Bancshares delivered another strong quarter to begin 2026, with higher net income, expanding net interest margin and continued growth in book value per share," stated James Burke, CEO. "Lower funding costs, accelerated loan repricing and disciplined balance sheet management drove record net interest income and record profitability during the quarter. We also continued to make progress improving our core operating performance while maintaining prudent expense control. Although nonperforming and classified assets increased during the quarter, overall asset quality remains sound and is supported by strong collateral values, conservative underwriting and solid reserve levels. We remain focused on managing risk, strengthening operating leverage and building long-term value for our shareholders as we move through 2026."

Reports Q4 net interest up 1 basis point to 3.43% vs. Q3. Tangible book value per common share at period end was $14.87 from $14.43 at previous quarter end. "Our fourth-quarter and full year results underscore the strength and momentum of the bank," stated James ("Jimmy") Burke, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We delivered meaningful quarterly and annual improvements in net income, net interest income, ROAA, and NIM, while controlling expenses and driving operating leverage. Nonperforming and classified assets have increased but overall asset quality remains solid and is supported by strong collateral and reserves. As we enter 2026, we remain confident in our ability to strengthen core profitability and deliver sustainable long-term value for our shareholders."
Shore Bancshares announces Q3 earnings per share of 43 cents, below consensus estimate of 45 cents.
Net interest income for the third quarter of 2025 increased $1.4M to $48.7M from $47.3M for the second quarter of 2025. NIM increased 7 basis points to 3.42% during the third quarter of 2025 from 3.35% in the second quarter of 2025. "We continue to demonstrate resilience and operational strength in the third quarter," stated James Burke, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shore Bancshares. "Despite a modest decline in net income for the quarter due to a large marine loan write-off and softer noninterest income, we saw meaningful expansion in net interest margin and continued growth in book value per share. Asset quality remains sound, supported by strong collateral and prudent reserve levels, despite a temporary increase in nonperforming and classified assets driven by a few commercial real estate exposures. As we navigate a dynamic environment, we remain focused on enhancing operating leverage through strategic investments in technology and talent. We are confident in our ability to deliver sustainable long-term value."
