Zealand Pharma Enters $100M Royalty Agreement with Royalty Pharma
Zealand Pharma (ZLDPF) announced that it has entered into a royalty purchase and sale agreement with Royalty Pharma (RPRX) in exchange for Zealand Pharma's economics related to rusfertide, a potential first-in-class therapy for polycythemia vera, a rare and chronic blood disorder. Under the terms of the royalty purchase and sale agreement, Zealand Pharma will receive $100M for the sale of its economic interests related to rusfertide, including rights to one percent royalty on potential future global net sales of rusfertide and regulatory and commercial milestones. Of the $100M, Zealand Pharma will receive an upfront payment of $50M upon closing of the transaction. The remaining $50M is due upon the first anniversary of the closing of the agreement. Zealand Pharma will retain the right to a 0.25% royalty on annual net global sales of rusfertide greater than $1.5B, while Royalty Pharma will retain a 0.75% royalty on sales above $1.5B.
Royalty Pharma Reports 14% Revenue Growth in Q2

Royalty Pharma Acquires Portion of Neurimmune's Royalty for Up to $425M
Royalty Pharma (RPRX) announced that it has acquired a portion of Neurimmune's royalty interest in AstraZeneca's (AZN) cliramitug for up to $425M, including $125M upfront. Cliramitug is a Phase 3 TTR-fibril-depleting antibody designed to remove amyloid deposits in patients with TTR amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy, a progressive, degenerative and fatal disease caused by misfolded proteins that accumulate in the heart. Currently approved therapies for ATTR-CM slow disease progression by preventing ATTR accumulation but do not target amyloid already accumulated in the heart. Cliramitug is currently in the Phase 3 DepleTTR-CM trial with results expected in 2028. Under the terms of the agreement, Royalty Pharma will provide Neurimmune up to $425M, including $125M upfront, in exchange for a 3% to 4% royalty on worldwide net sales of cliramitug. In the first quarter of 2027, Royalty Pharma will provide another $125M in cash to Neurimmune, with the remaining $175M payable based on the achievement of certain clinical and regulatory milestones.
Royalty Pharma Announces $500M R&D Co-Funding Agreement with Johnson & Johnson
Royalty Pharma (RPRX) announced a research and development co-funding agreement with Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) for a total of $500M in 2026 and 2027 to advance the development of JNJ-4804, an investigational medicine for autoimmune diseases. JNJ-4804 is a novel co-antibody therapy that blocks the complementary interleukin-23 and tumor necrosis factor pathways, delivering synergistic effects on the pathogenesis of chronic immune-mediated diseases.
Royalty Pharma Appoints Kenneth Sun as Senior VP for Asia
Royalty Pharma announced the appointment of Kenneth Sun as Senior Vice President and Head of Asia, effective May 2026. Sun will be based in Hong Kong and lead the company's royalty business in Asia.
