Intel Delivers Strong Earnings, Boosts Stock Futures

Investors have grown increasingly concerned that soaring capital expenditures and cash burn tied to artificial intelligence may take longer to generate meaningful returns. Intel helped ease some of those concerns after beating quarterly expectations, forecasting stronger revenue and profit for the current quarter, and outlining plans to continue investing in AI and manufacturing capacity.Oil prices surged above $100 per barrel following renewed attacks on shipping linked to Iran-backed Houthi militants in the Red Sea, heightening fears of supply disruptions and adding to inflation concerns. Although crude has pulled back slightly from its overnight highs, it remains sharply higher for the week, contributing to a rise in Treasury yields.Trade policy is also back in focus after the Trump administration announced new tariffs of 10% to 12.5% on imports from 60 countries, including China and several European nations. The measures have renewed concerns over global trade tensions and their potential impact on inflation, corporate margins and economic growth. In pre-market trading, S&P 500 futures rose 0.13%, Nasdaq futures rose 0.02% and Dow futures rose 0.33%.Check out this morning's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER -Amkor Technologyup 12% after after disclosing a partnership with NvidiaOracleup 2% after being awarded a $3.31B Department of War Enterprise Software contractUP AFTER EARNINGS -Tenet Healthcareup 17%SLBup 4%Intelup 3%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -MaxLineardown 7%Robert Halfdown 6%American Expressdown 4%Verizondown 1%HCA Healthcareup 1%Deckers Outdoordown 1%LOWER -Zevra Therapeuticsdown 25% after announcing that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use of the European Medicines Agency has adopted a negative opinion regarding the marketing authorization application for arimoclomol for the treatment of Niemann-Pick disease type C
