Terrestrial Energy Authorizes Up to $25 Million Share Repurchase Program
Terrestrial Energy announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a share repurchase program of up to $25 million of the Company's common stock. The program will be funded from the Company's existing cash on hand. It does not obligate the Company to repurchase any particular amount of common stock, may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time at the Company's discretion without prior notice, and will expire on October 22, 2027.
Terrestrial Energy Appoints David Williams as Chief Commercial Officer
Terrestrial Energy announced the appointment of David Williams as Chief Commercial Officer, CCO, effective October 19, 2026. He will be based at the Charlotte, N.C., headquarters and report to Terrestrial Energy CEO Simon Irish. Most recently Williams served as Vice President of Commercial Nuclear Business Development at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions
Terrestrial Energy Submits Thermal and Electric Facility Report to U.S. NRC
Terrestrial Energy announced that it has submitted its Thermal and Electric Facility Topical Report to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission . If approved, the TEF, which houses the generators, turbines, and steam supply systems of the Integral Molten Salt Reactor Plant, could be customized for each site and built and operated ahead of the plant's nuclear construction permit and operating license. "This submission can change how an IMSR Plant is regulated, built and financed," said Simon Irish, CEO of Terrestrial Energy. "With its NRC approval, only the nuclear portion of the plant would follow the nuclear licensing timeline. The rest of the plant would become a conventional industrial project, giving customers earlier power and heat and giving financing partners a bankable construction phase. As this pathway applies to every IMSR Plant, it is a fleet-wide advantage, not a one-off exemption." The IMSR Plant is designed in two discrete parts: the Nuclear Facility, containing standardized and modular nuclear systems, and the TEF, containing non-nuclear heat transfer, steam supply and electric systems for commercial power generation and thermal energy supply. With NRC approval, the TEF could enter commercial service ahead of the NF, using an auxiliary heat source such as natural gas as a bridge to nuclear power.
Terrestrial Energy Supports Ameresco Nuclear Project
Terrestrial Energy (IMSR) announced its support and role as supplier of advanced nuclear plant technology for Ameresco's (AMRC) power plant project at the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. This follows a competitive request for proposals and selection process by the Army as part of its Strategic Capital Initiatives and Ameresco's recent successful selection. Ameresco's APG power project is planned to provide commercial power generation capacity to the regional electricity market and enhance APG's electric power resiliency. The project is a phased development of natural gas and advanced nuclear commercial power generation. Terrestrial Energy is supporting Ameresco as the supplier of advanced nuclear generation technology with its Integral Molten Salt Reactor Plant design, an advanced reactor that captures the exceptional inherent safety features of a molten salt reactor to supply resilient, firm, clean power.
Ameresco Selected for Long-Term Leases by U.S. Army
Ameresco, (AMRC) announced that the U.S. Army under its Strategic Capital Initiatives has competitively selected Ameresco to enter into exclusive negotiation of long-term leases supporting commercial power generation projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland and Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. The Army made the selections under its Enhanced Use Lease authority, 10 U.S.C. Section 2667, through its Strategic Capital Initiatives, which are designed to engage private-sector partners in accelerating enterprise-wide modernization. The projects to be developed on the leased land are expected to provide market-based capacity to each state's grid while supporting the host installations' missions during utility outages. Ameresco will negotiate each lease with the Army, however, development is beginning immediately. For the Picatinny project, Ameresco intends to deploy both modular microreactor and small modular reactor technologies determined based on the project's commercial, technical, regulatory, and siting requirements. Ameresco is collaborating with Terrestrial Energy (IMSR) to develop and deploy an integrated molten salt reactor as the nuclear solution best suited to the Phase 2 site at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
