Monte Rosa Reports Positive GFORCE-1 Data for MRT-8102
Monte Rosa Therapeutics announced positive data from GFORCE-1, a Phase 1 study evaluating MRT-8102, a NEK7-directed MGD being developed for the treatment of inflammatory conditions driven by the NEK7/NLRP3 pathway. Summary of GFORCE-1 Results: MRT-8102 achieved robust and sustained NEK7 degradation, with a median reduction of approximately 80 to 90% observed across all three dose levels; Both local drivers of plaque growth and progression and systemic inflammatory biomarkers were substantially reduced following MRT-8102 administration at all three dose levels to levels comparable with baseline values from Phase 1 healthy volunteers; The thrombogenic factor fibrinogen was reduced by a median of 28% to levels consistent with those in healthy volunteers; MRT-8102 was well tolerated over four weeks of dosing and four weeks of follow-up. No serious adverse events were reported. Rates of treatment-emergent adverse events were similar between MRT-8102 and placebo, occurring in 33% of MRT-8102 participants and 30% of placebo participants, with no evidence of increased infection risk. Phase 2 Program for MRT-8102: GFORCE-2, a focused Phase 2b study of MRT-8102 in patients with stable coronary artery disease and residual inflammation, is expected to initiate in H1 2027; GEMINI-1, a Phase 2 study of MRT-8102 in patients with gout, is expected to initiate in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027. The study will investigate prevention of flare recurrence following management of acute flares with MRT-8102. Initial data are expected in H2 2027; GALAXY-1, a Phase 2 study of MRT-8102 in patients with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa, is expected to initiate in H1 2027.
S&P 500 Falls for Third Straight Day
S&P 500 fell for the third straight day as investor enthusiasm over the possibility of a less aggressive Federal Reserve following today's benign PCE inflation data was reversed into the close. While the Fed's preferred measure of inflation dented expectations of another rate hike in October, the impact down the Treasury yield curve was non-existent as the 10-year and the 30-year rates saw fresh multi-year highs at 5.30% and 5.65% respectively. Tech was the only sector to end Wednesday in the green as mega-cap names buffered sentiment, while Consumer Staples, Real Estate, and Healthcare underperformed.Index futures are slightly higher in the opening hour of the evening session, with S&P e-minis and Nasdaq 100 contracts both up 0.2%. Traders are watching the neutral market reaction to Q4 earnings out of Micron- the company exceeded estimates on both earnings and revenue and guided Q1 well above consensus on both the top and the bottom line. However, the management also warned that its capex plans for FY27 are higher than the company's prior projections. In Q4, Micron's capex of $10.77B was up from $7.1B in Q3 and up 119% y/y.Check out this evening's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER AFTER EARNINGS -Bassett Furniture Industriesup 8.5%ALSO HIGHER -Monte Rosa Therapeuticsup 15.3% after announcing presentation of MRT-8102 GFORCE-1 Phase 1 StudyVicorup 8.9% after Q3 pre-announcementInogenup 6.7% after announcing plans to divest U.S. oxygen rental business and increase buybackNu Holdings Ltd.up 5.6% after denying reports of Monzo transactionRogersup 2.6% after medium-term outlookDOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Progress Softwaredown 1.8%Micron Technologydown 0.2%
Monte Rosa and Novartis Initiate Sjogren's Disease Clinical Trial
Monte Rosa Therapeutics (GLUE) announced that its collaborator Novartis (NVS) has initiated a Phase 2 clinical study for the VAV1-directed MGD MRT-6160 in people living with Sjogren's disease. This study is the first of several studies expected for MRT-6160 and part of a global exclusive development and commercialization license agreement between Monte Rosa and Novartis to advance VAV1 MGDs including MRT-6160. In connection with the first patient visit of the study, Monte Rosa will receive a $50M milestone payment from Novartis.
Monte Rosa Doses First Patient in MODeFIRe-1 Study
Monte Rosa Therapeutics announced that the first patient has been dosed in MODeFIRe-1, a Phase 2 study evaluating MRT-2359 in combination with apalutamide, a second-generation androgen receptor inhibitor, in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer with AR mutations. The study follows clinical data previously shared from the Company's Phase 1/2 study of MRT-2359 in combination with enzalutamide in heavily pretreated mCRPC patients. MRT-2359 is an investigational, orally bioavailable, GSPT1-directed MGD discovered and developed by Monte Rosa.
Monte Rosa Therapeutics Activates Phase 2 Trial for MRT-6160
"We're tremendously proud of our progress to date in 2026, defined by strong execution across our clinical-stage portfolio, with two Phase 2 trials activated and additional trials expected across our programs," said Markus Warmuth, Chief Executive Officer of Monte Rosa Therapeutics. "Importantly, for our VAV1 program, Novartis recently activated a Phase 2 study evaluating MRT-6160 in individuals with Sjogren's disease, representing an important step forward for this program and established collaboration. We look forward to additional Phase 2 study activations expected as part of a broader development effort to evaluate the potential of MRT-6160 across other immune-mediated diseases. In addition, the Phase 2 study of MRT-2359 in combination with apalutamide in mCRPC patients with AR mutations is now activated, and we expect to enroll our first patients imminently, positioning us to validate the strong signals of clinical activity we observed in this patient population in our Phase 1/2 trial. We will update data from the initial Phase 1/2 arm exploring MRT-2359 in advanced CRPC by the end of the year."
