Qatar Seeks Long-Term Agreements to Buy LNG from U.S. Suppliers

Qatar is in discussions to buy liquefied natural gas from U.S. suppliers under long-term agreements due to the Iran war crippling its ability to supply its own customers, Bloomberg's Ruth Liao reports. State-owned QatarEnergy is interested in supplies from existing and under-construction export projects, according to people familiar with the matter. The potential deals are a result of the U.S.-Iran war pushing Qatar to look for alternative sources of gas to satisfy its customers.

Cheniere Energy Partners Signs EPC Contract with Bechtel

Cheniere Energy Partners announced that its subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction Stage V, has entered into a lump sum, turnkey, engineering, procurement and construction, EPC, contract with Bechtel Energy, Inc. for the first phase of the SPL Expansion Project. In addition, SPLV has released Bechtel to commence early engineering and procurement for Phase 1 under a limited notice to proceed.

Cheniere Energy Partners intends to offer, subject to market and other conditions, Senior Notes due 2036 and Senior Notes due 2056. Cheniere Partners intends to use the proceeds from the offering for general partnership purposes, which may include, among other things, the repayment, refinancing or redemption of its and its subsidiaries' existing indebtedness, funding capital expenditures, working capital and other business opportunities. This press release does not constitute an offer to purchase or a solicitation of an offer to sell the SPL 2027 Notes or a notice of redemption under the indenture governing the SPL 2027 Notes. The Notes will rank pari passu in right of payment with existing senior notes at Cheniere Partners, including the senior notes due 2029, the senior notes due 2031, the senior notes due 2032, the senior notes due 2033, the senior notes due 2034 and the senior notes due 2035.
