Stadtwerke Nurtingen and ADS-TEC Energy Jointly Invest in €10M Battery Storage System
Local stakeholders and industry partners in Nurtingen are implementing a new joint investment model for energy infrastructure: Stadtwerke Nurtingen GmbH, ADS-TEC Energy and the citizens' energy cooperative BEGiNT are investing equally in a joint operating company to realize a large-scale battery storage system with a capacity of 10 MWh and an output of 5 MW. The battery storage system will be installed at the Stadtwerke Nurtingen site on Weberstrasse, with commissioning planned for the end of 2026. The system is designed to generate additional revenues by utilizing price fluctuations in electricity markets. At the same time, it can help integrate renewable energy more efficiently into the local grid and reduce peak loads. "The partnership combines local roots with technological expertise," says Jonas Grasshoff, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Nurtingen GmbH. "This enables us to develop new business models around flexibility and energy markets."
Ads-Tec Energy Partners with Stadtwerke Muhlacker for 10 MW Battery Storage System
Ads-Tec Energy announced that it is partnering with the public utility Stadtwerke Muhlacker for the installation of a large-scale battery storage system at its substation in Muhlacker providing 10 MW of power and a storage capacity of 20 MWh. Ads-Tec Energy is managing the planning, implementation and integration of the system, which is part of a long-term strategy to enhance the area's energy infrastructure. "This project in Muhlacker clearly illustrates the many requirements battery storage systems have to meet today," said Michael Rudloff, CEO of Ads-Tec Energy. "They must stabilize grids, be safe and reliable to operate, and at the same time be economically viable. Flexibility is increasingly important given rising electricity demand driven by electric mobility, heat pumps, and IT and digital infrastructures."
