CJ CheilJedang and ADM Form New Joint Venture

CJ CheilJedang and ADM have agreed to form a new joint venture to secure a reliable, long-term source of feed-grade amino acids critical to the livestock industry, strengthening U.S. production, global supply chain resilience and U.S. food security. The new joint venture will develop, manufacture and market fermentation-derived amino acids by bringing together: CJ's fermentation production facilities in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Piracicaba, Brazil; ADM's Decatur, Illinois, feed-grade amino acid plant; CJ's Mexico, Brazil and U.S. sales offices; Via license, CJ's intellectual property related to feed-grade amino acids for use by the joint venture within North and South America. CJ and ADM will give the JV exclusive rights to manufacture and sell feed-grade amino acids in the Americas. CJ will be the majority owner of the joint venture. CJ will retain ownership of its intellectual property and its global fermentation businesses outside the scope of the joint venture. ADM's other Decatur operations and its other global fermentation assets are not included in the transaction. The launch date for the proposed joint venture is subject to customary closing activities as well as regulatory approvals.

ADM Launches Disaster Response Fund to Support Affected Communities

ADM launched the ADM Cares Disaster Response Fund, a new initiative with Convoy of Hope to deliver essential aid in the aftermath of events such as hurricanes and floods. The investment, part of ADM Cares' mission to advance food security, will support communities in crisis with meal kits, providing survivors with critical nutrition. In addition to corporate contributions, ADM employees can volunteer and donate directly to the Disaster Response Fund, along with matching gifts from ADM Cares designated to the fund. The partnership launches as the Atlantic hurricane season reaches its peak, and incidents of extreme weather increase. ADM already has been able to help Convoy of Hope provide assistance on the ground in western Colombia, South America, where an earthquake led to widespread destruction in August, and Enid, Oklahoma, which suffered a violent tornado in April, among other hard-hit communities.

ADM Plans Entry into Voluntary Carbon Dioxide Removal Market

ADM announced its planned entry into the voluntary carbon dioxide removal market with credits generated by the 800,000+ ton-a-year capacity carbon capture operations at the company's Columbus, Nebraska, corn processing complex. The credits are undergoing certification and issuance by Puro.earth, an infrastructure provider for engineered carbon dioxide removal, under its Geologically Stored Carbon methodology. Certification and issuance of the initial carbon removal credits is expected by year end. Upon successful completion of the certification and verification process, ADM will begin a 15-year crediting period, positioning the Columbus carbon capture facility to deliver carbon removal credits for years to come.
